TW: Mentions of Abuse and Alcoholism
I will definitely edit this a lot as this right now is the bare bones. Please tell me if anything is inaccurate.
A place where I write about what I think my personifications of Scotland and England's relationship would be like.
Scotland and England married in 1707 due to the Treaty of Union. The marriage was doomed as it had two people who barely tolerated each-other bound to each other. It was also damaging emotionally as Scotland loved another and England was both asexual and aromatic. They had and have an open relationship (a fact not broadcasted before the 21st century). They talked to their kids about it and Scotland is the one who uses it as England doesn't want anyone.
England really didn't want to be married again or have children so she became very emotionally and physically abusive (which I do not condone but I can see her being this) and a negligent mother who was withdrawn.
Scotland was constantly angered by the fact that he felt his people's voice was ignored or brushed over and fell into alcoholism. He was often in his room or out constantly and when he was with everyone else he would be the "fun dad" aka the dad who doesn't really do anything but has fun with the kids. (I feel sorry for the nannies)
During the Scottish enlightenment and Industrial Revolution they stopped talking to each other completely and had UK handle all of what was technically their work as BE (British Empire) was the representative of them outside the country.
The relationship between the two of them worsened during WW1 as a result of the Red Clydeside movement that came as a result of it. Their relationship became ok after WW2 as when Scotland was targeted by Germany, England did help anonymously.
When Scotland gained more self-governance the relationship did become better with England starting to attend therapy and Scotland going to rehab (he's clean now) and now they are both trying to get a divorce without breaking the union (Scotland isn't trying to break off for now).
Some little facts:
- England told Scotland that he could sleep with anyone as she didn't want to.
- Britain was born after they were pressured to have a child.
- The others were made or conjured by magic (England has some grasp of magic which is not known by many because of the witch mania back then) to trick the officials.
- Both wish artificial insemination existed back then.
- Both attend family therapy with their children.
- Both accept that they probably won't be "mum" or "dad" to any of them and that they don't deserve it.
- Scotland only drinks on happy occasions and is gradually starting drinking alcohol casually.
- England is trying to repent for the abuse she has afflicted.
