"She looks fine," the Apollo camper said, shining an ophthalmoscope into Thalia's eyes to check her reaction to the light. It was the next morning, and the daughter of Zeus had just woken up. "In shock, but that's probably to be expected when you're suddenly a person again after seven years."
"How long do you anticipate she'll need to be in here?" Chiron asked. "I'm sure Annabeth would quite like to catch up with her."
"Well, I'm not entirely sure. She could probably-" the Apollo camper began before being interrupted by the sound of (Y/N) biting into something. The centaur and doctor turned to the noise, seeing him sitting on a stool in the corner, apple in hand.
"What?" he asked. Chiron shook his head.
"An apple?" Percy asked as he walked in. "Little cliche, don't you think?"
"Hey, you eat a fruit from the suicide forest and tell me you don't want that taste gone from your memory," (Y/N) responded, swallowing the bite of the apple. "Just because the Fruit of Knowledge looked like an apple doesn't mean I have an obsession with them."
"Wait, suicide forest? Fruit of Knowledge?" Thalia asked. "Aren't those Christian?"
"Yes to the first. The Fruit is also Jewish, and Islamic, what's your point?" (Y/N) responded, taking another bite.
"But it's the Greek gods that are real," Thalia said, getting out of the recovery bed, "not them."
"Not necessarily," (Y/N) smiled, sticking his hand out for a handshake, an offer to which Thalia crossed her arms in response.
"Eh, worth a shot," (Y/N) chuckled. "Let's see, your dad is Zeus, Percy's is Poseidon, I got a seventh of the Devil."
"And I'm supposed to actually believe you are what you say you are and not just some edgelord because...?" Thalia questioned.
"If you don't, then why did you refuse to shake my hand?" (Y/N) poked fun. "Scared I'll take your soul?"
"No, I just think you're a creep."
"Well, don't you just have a response for everything," (Y/N) said, throwing the core of his apple into the trash can across the room. "In all seriousness, though. I am the son of Mammon, prince of Greed, and no, I can't take your soul."
"I didn't ask if there was a maximum occupancy, I said let me in!" Annabeth shouted from outside. She had just been informed that Thalia had woken up, and she was desperate to see her. The daughter of Athena burst through the door, much to the Apollo camper's chagrin, and looked at the gothic daughter of the sky, not entirely certain that she was real.
"Thalia, is it... is it you?" she asked, unsure.
"I do believe that's my queue to leave. Room's getting cramped," (Y/N) said, straining with effort as he got up using his crutch. "Just, if I ever come up in conversation, Annabeth, please do tell Miss Addams Family here that I really am Mammon's son and not, 'just an edgelord' as she so eloquently put it."
(Y/N) shuffled out of the room and toward the Aphrodite cabin. He found them utterly useless in the parts where their lives really counted, but he had to admit that what he wanted information on was easily under their purview. He took the piece of obsidian from all the way back from Polyphemus's island out of his pocket, flipping it back and forth between his fingers, very carefully of course.
(Y/N) knocked on the door of the love goddess's cabin, which was quickly answered by its head counselor, Silena Beauregard.
"Oh, de- er, (Y/N)," Silena said, surprised. "What do you need?"
"Advice, really," (Y/N) explained, ignoring the fact that he was nearly called Demon again. "I... uh... I have this piece of obsidian here, from clear back on Polyphemus's island in the Sea of Monsters. Same piece of obsidian that I had to use to... well..."
