The Fall of Envy

(Y/N) pulled the trigger on Tentazione, aiming to take out Leviathan's kneecap. However, due to the mirage-like effects of the heat coming from the flames behind the Prince of Envy, he missed. Leviathan took the chance to transform into his true form, his being coalescing before stretching out, the sound of bones snapping bones and severing tissue echoing through the air. (Y/N) tried to take more shots at Leviathan during the process, trying to stop Leviathan before the fight could truly begin.

However, the shots (Y/N) took simply phased right through Leviathan. Unfazed, Leviathan continued his transformation, the glowing ball of energy eventually elongating, becoming more akin to a snake with wings. (Y/N) pulled Tentazione away from his shoulder to observe what was happening with his foe, his mouth agape in confusion.

Leviathan finally showed himself in his most powerful form; he was a massive, winding serpent of meat with segmented bone plates along his sides and back shaped like human arms. Plates shaped like human faces were on his underside. Where once there was a human-like face and traditional horns, there was instead a massive upper jaw that looked like a decapitated body, the same horns that defined Leviathan in humanoid form growing from the body's feet.

As the very tail end of Leviathan emerged from his transformation, he whipped it towards (Y/N), trying to send him across Dis. Thankfully, due to Leviathan's newfound massive scale, he had left just enough room for (Y/N) to duck under the tail. The son of Mammon shook his head to focus before pulling Tentazione back to his shoulder. He took more shots at Leviathan's face, but the bullets simply bounced off of the bony plating that covered his head.

"For fuck's sake," (Y/N) muttered, as rifle mode was ineffective and he didn't have enough time to get a good position or stance to take shots with the sniper form. He was going to try to find a weaker point on Leviathan that he could shoot, but the prince of Envy left him no chance to do that either, bringing the tail back around for another try. (Y/N) ran toward and ducked beneath a piece of angled rubble, wedged into the ground in just such a way that Leviathan's tail bounced right off of it.

Seeing that he missed again, Leviathan curled his tail in the air before letting out a sonic screech at (Y/N), one that threatened to burst his eardrums. (Y/N) put his barrel hand to his ear in an attempt to block out at least some of the sound from the screech, which was thankfully enough to preserve his hearing. However, his left ear was still ringing. Given the current situation he was in, however, he had little option but to ignore it for now and instead focus on the fight, and it was a good thing he did.

Leviathan had gone for something more akin to a bite attack, barreling forward with his maw open and trying to swallow (Y/N) whole. Fortunately, he was able to dodge to the side just in time to avoid it, but the force of the wind against him was enough to send him flying back.

While in the air, however, (Y/N) was able to spot a potential weak point on the Lord of Envy. Beneath his horns, there was a small figure on his head, one that looked an awful lot like the prince of Envy's human form.

'There!' (Y/N) thought to himself. He now had a clear target to shoot, but there was now the issue of actually hitting it. See, it wasn't only because it passed right by him that (Y/N) was able to make out that little detail, but also because it was completely obscured from the front. Because of that, it was going to be a difficult shot from the side, and entirely impossible from the front.

While Leviathan was circling back around, (Y/N) took a couple of shots at the figure before Leviathan managed to turn around, blocking his ability to hit it once again. Seeing that the momentum was already swinging his tail around, Leviathan decided to send another tail attack, this time slamming it straight down in an attempt to ensure that (Y/N) couldn't dodge it. However, (Y/N) saw that the tail was going up and over Leviathan's head and began running away, managing to get out of range before the tail hit the ground.
