The reveal that Percy was under the protection of Lucifer Morningstar was enough to sway the vote in the demigod's favor. Zeus declared that, since they were not disintegrating the heroes, there would instead be a party to celebrate their success. It only took mere minutes before everyone was in the entrance hall of the Council, the epicenter of the party. The Nine Muses were in charge of the music, and their magic ensured that everyone heard exactly the kind of music they wanted to hear. The gods could listen to classical while the younger demi-gods heard hip-hop or punk, and it was all the same soundtrack. No arguments, no fights to change the radio station. Just requests to turn up the volume.

Dionysus went around growing refreshment stands out of the ground, and a beautiful woman walked with him arm in arm; his wife, Ariadne. Dionysus looked happy for the first time. Nectar and Ambrosia overflowed from golden fountains, and platters of mortal snack food crowded the banquet tables. Golden goblets filled with whatever drink you wanted.

There was so much hustle and bustle; between the various gods approaching Percy to congratulate him, Grover trying to summon Pan over a double-espresso, Thalia speaking with Artemis about... whatever it was that they were talking about; that no one noticed (Y/N) slink away to the front porch of the council hall. No one, that is, except Annabeth.

As silently as she could manage, which didn't have to be very much thanks to the noise of the party, the daughter of Athena followed (Y/N) out to the front porch, simply watching what he did. The archdemon took a couple of steps before sitting down on the stairs and placing his cup next to him. He then leaned back and leaned his elbow on the top step before cradling his forehead between his thumb and middle finger, and letting out a deep sigh.

"I take it you were as blindsided by that as I was," Annabeth said, making her presence known. (Y/N) looked behind him and locked eyes with her, his eyes still having that same black and gold color that they were in his true archdemon form, as well as the small horns beginning to grow from his forehead. He let out another sigh.

"What, my ascension? Or Thalia joining the Hunters because I saved her ass?" he replied, clearly angry. "I knew she would be upset, but I didn't think she'd take it that badly. I mean, I did it to save her, for Grandfather's sake!"

"Yeah, but Thalia's Thalia," Annabeth said, sitting down next to (Y/N). "The only thing she hates more than being denied something is someone not letting her go after it in the first place. She... she's always been like that."

There was silence between them for a moment. Annabeth was clearly waiting for some sort of response from (Y/N), but he was just looking across the clouds and down at New York.

"I... I'm sorry for the way I treated you when you first came to camp," Annabeth said. "Part of the cover that my... my dad created was raising me partially Catholic. He thought that teaching me multiple mythologies and religions would confuse me about my mother. If I had multiple potential pantheons for my mother in my mind, the monsters wouldn't pay as much attention."

"And because of that Catholic knowledge, you were afraid," (Y/N) finished for Annabeth knowing that she was about to start rambling. "I get it. Still hurts, but I get it. Hey, at least you have an infernal ally now."

"Yeah, I suppose we do," Annabeth said, looking at the New York skyline below. The sound of shoes clicking against marble was heard behind them, causing (Y/N) to turn his head to see who it was. Standing at the top of the steps in a beautiful white toga with silver accessories was Zoe, looking rather upset about something.

(Y/N) turned back to Annabeth. "Why do you head back to the party," he suggested. "I'm sure Percy's looking for you, assuming the gods can leave him alone for five seconds."
