The trip back to Mammon's estate was, thankfully, uneventful. The most interesting thing to happen along the way was the conversation about how the two former prisoners had arrived in that predicament. Like the Unknown, Paz had been a Throne in Heaven, dedicated to singing God's praise 24/7 for eternity. Like the Unknown, he had wanted to create other kinds of music and was thrown into Hell along with her. However, her fall had been much more friendly, as his fall left him as nothing more than a skull.
"Then she started making weapons, the Sins got scared we were going to try and overthrow them, and you saw where that got us," Paz finished.
"Well, I was told you were the person I had to turn to if I had to get some Sins under control, and there are a few I need to get under control."
The Unknown raised an eyebrow, Paz speaking for her. "Who and why?"
"Leviathan, Satan, and Beelzebub," (Y/N) informed. "The other four have all agreed to reform Lucifer, but those three are... holding out. Their presence and the answers to their riddles are required."
"Reformin' Lucifer?" Paz asked in his southern drawl. "You sure that's a good idea?" The Unknown narrowed her eyes in suspicion.
"Heaven seems to think we are doing so anyway, so if we can make it happen before Heaven expects, they might call off whatever they're planning."
"Well, if they're lookin' to cook our goose anyway, having the Original Rebel wouldn't hurt..." Paz conceded. "What's the details?"
"Need the three I mentioned before restrained and unable to fight back. Once they're in the appropriate places, I'll pay you, within reason."
"And you won't need us for fightin' off Heaven?" Paz asked, skeptical. The Unknown rolled her eyes.
"We do this fast enough, we won't have to. We've arrived." (Y/N) pushed open the door to Mammon's office, revealing the small and warmly lit space. In front of the fire was Mammon, who was just absently staring into it, holding his glass of imitation whiskey next to his hip.
"Dad, I got who you asked for," (Y/N) said. The Unknown, however, was less than pleased to see the prince of Greed. She immediately grabbed the Hounds from her hips and fired a single shot, destroying the glass in Mammon's hand. The Sin's hand shot up as a reaction, trying to get his hand out of the way of any follow-up. (Y/N) drew Tentazione from his jacket and pointed it at the Unknown.
"This isn't the agreement!" (Y/N) ordered. "If that's how you thank the guy who ordered your release, I'd hate to see what you want to do to the guy who slammed the gavel!"
"Now everybody just calm down!" Paz shouted, trying to be the voice of reason. "We're already briefed thanks to your kid here, so what's in it for us?"
"That would ultimately be up to Lucifer," Mammon sighed, "I'm sure (Y/N) can make a deal for you, though."
(Y/N) nodded. "I can't guarantee specifics, but I can try to get at least restitution for your imprisonment."
The fires that acted as Paz's eyes looked up to the Unknown, who narrowed her eyes further.
"How much 'restitution'?" Paz questioned.
"Again, I don't know," (Y/N) stressed. "If I try to negotiate for at least something the size of a block, is that enough?"
The Unknown pulled back the hammer on the raised Hound.
"Two blocks?" (Y/N) asked, annoyed.
The Unknown began to pull the trigger.
"Fine, a Sinful fucking Estate!" (Y/N) acquiesced. "That enough?"
The Unknown turned her head for a second in thought, before slowly letting the hammer fall without going off. She returned the Hound to her hip, nodding her head.
"Our assistance for a Sinful Estate?" Paz questioned. "You got yourself a deal."
"In that case, the time for talk has passed," Mammon said, placing his hands on his desk. "The work must be done. (Y/N), you take on Satan. He'll hit hard, but so blinded by his domain that you should just be able to get out of the way of whatever he throws at you. If you can snipe him through a window or something, even better. Paz, you and the Unknown go for Beelzebub. I'll go for Levi."
"Levi?" Paz questioned.
"Envy and Greed are hand in hand these days," Mammon explained. "Everyone sees what Wall Street has, and wants it for themselves, while those same Wall Street bankers want to take even more. They get more, and the people want more. Vicious cycle, but oh-so profitable for me and Levi."
"Then why would Leviathan not want to continue this arrangement?" (Y/N) questioned. "If it makes you both a profit, is it not mutually beneficial?"
Mammon sighed. "He thinks it's a bad deal, that I'm getting more out of it than he is. Thinks if the Apple is undone, I'll diminish and Envy will skyrocket. Not to mention, given how envy works, Leviathan is more than happy to put a bullet in us both if it means his gunshot hurts a little less."
"Makes sense, I guess," (Y/N) said, crossing his arms. "Still, you sure you can take him? Lots of jealous people up top."
"And there is a lot of anger at the state of the world, yet I trust you to deal with Satan," Mammon pointed out. "While it's true that the amount of the sin in the world can tell you something of the prince's strength, it is also in the way it is used. Satan has always been so consumed by his own Wrath that he has refused to hone his power, insisting he doesn't need it. Levi, however, always desired to be the best and trained to earn that title. If Satan is a charging bull with his powers, then Leviathan is an experienced surgeon."
"And you're sure you will be fine?" (Y/N) asked his father.
"Probably," Mammon said. "Levi's always been like a little brother to me, and what kind of big brother can't beat the younger's ass into doing what's good for them?"
