"So what did she want with you?" Thalia asked.

(Y/N) shook his head. "I don't even know," he replied. "She was probably just trying to get into my head about everything. Seemed to think this whole thing is just some fucking soap opera."

Zoe narrowed her eyes. "The goddess of love would not make a special trip to tell Percy not to touch her husband's things and ask about your love life. Be careful, you two. Aphrodite has led many heroes astray."

"For once I agree with Zoe," Thalia said. "You can't trust Aphrodite."

"Don't have to tell me twice. So how do we get out of here?"

"That way," Zoe said. "That is west."

"How can you tell?" Percy asked.

In the light of the full moon, Percy was surprised at how well he could see her roll her eyes at him. "Ursa Major is in the north," she said, "which means that must be west."

She pointed west, then at the northern constellation, which was hard to make out because there were so many other stars.

"Ohe yeah," Percy said. "The bear thing."

Zoe looked offended. "Show some respect. It was a fine bear, a worthy opponent."

"Or you could just use Polaris, the brightest star in the sky," (Y/N) suggested. "Easier to make out than a vague bear shape."

"Guys," Grover broke in. "Look!"

The group had reached the crest of a junk mountain. Piles of metal objects glinted in the moonlight: broken heads of bronze horses, metal legs from human statues, smashed chariots, tons of fields and swords and other weapons, along with more modern stuff, like cars that gleamed gold and silver, refrigerators, washing machines, and computer monitors.

"Whoa," Bianca said. "That stuff... some of it looks like real gold."

"Because it is!" (Y/N) said, grinning like a kid in a candy store. He grabbed a glittering watch from the pile and put it on his wrist, only for it to transform into a shield on his forearm just like Thalia's Aegis. He laughed, impressed.

"Hey, no!" Thalia shouted. "Put that down! We can't take anything! This is the junkyard of the gods."

"Junk?" (Y/N) asked confused. "Are you kidding me? This is great!"

Grover bit off a chunk of a golden crown and began to chew. "Delicious, too!"

Thalia swatted the crown out of his hands. "I'm serious!"

"Look!" Bianca said. She raced down the hill, nearly tripping on bronze coils and golden plates. She picked up a bow that glowed silver in the moonlight. "A Hunter's bow!"

"Dibs!" (Y/N) shouted.]

Bianca yelped in surprise as the bow began to shrink, becoming no larger than a hair clip shaped like a crescent moon. "It's just like Percy's sword!" she exclaimed.

Zoe's face was grim. "Leave it, Bianca."

"But-"

"It is here for a reason. Anything thrown away in this junkyard must stay in this yard. It is defective. Or cursed."

Bianca reluctantly set the hair clip down.

"I don't like this," Thalia said. She gripped the shaft of her spear. "Percy, you stay on (Y/N). Make sure he doesn't take anything."

Percy looked back, only to see (Y/N) rocking out to some kind of music in an MP3 player with headphones he had picked up. The son of greed stopped when he realized that Percy was looking at him, his eyes wide like a kid who had just been caught with their hand in the cookie jar. He quickly took the headphones off and hid the whole thing behind his back, whistling. Percy just shook his head.
