Six months later, (Y/N) and Thalia were in the back of Sally Jackson's new car. They were in the backseat alongside Annabeth, while Percy was sitting in the front. (Y/N) had his arm over Thalia's shoulder, the two huddling together for warmth as they drove through the cold Maine snow. In the trunk were all of their weapons, except for (Y/N)'s. He thought that his were small enough and disguised enough that he could get away with holding on to them. Tentazione was tucked into the breast pocket of his suit jacket while his cane sword was between his legs. Overall, he looked like he was getting ready for a party, but one of those really fancy ones that no one with a net worth below five figures was invited to.

Despite all of this, the ride was quiet. They were all nervous about what would happen when they reached their destination. The reason they had spent the last eight hours on the highway from Long Island to Bar Harbor, Maine was because they had gotten a message from Grover. Apparently, he had found something at this boarding school, and he needed their help with whatever it was. By the time they arrived, it was already getting dark, and Sally had been talking for the entire drive.

Thalia wiped the fog off the car window and peered outside. "Oh, yeah. This'll be fun."

Westover Hall, the school they needed to be at, looked like an evil knight's castle. It was all black stone, with towers and slit wonders and a big set of wooden double doors. It stood on a snowy cliff overlooking a big frosty forest on one side and the gray, churning ocean on the other.

"Are you sure you don't want me to wait?" Sally asked.

"No thanks, Mom," Percy said. "I don't know how long it will take. We'll be okay."

"But how will you get back? I'm worried, Percy."

Percy was clearly trying to fight a blush but was failing miserably. (Y/N) was tempted to laugh, but he was shivering a little too hard to do so.

"It's okay, Ms. Jackson." Annabeth smiled reassuringly. Her blond hair was tucked into a ski cap and her gray eyes were the same color as the ocean. "We'll keep him out of trouble."

Sally seemed to relax a little. "Alright, dears. Do you have everything you need?"

"Yes, Ms. Jackson," Thalia said. "Thanks for the ride."

"Are you sure? (Y/N) looks like he's going to get hypothermia."

"I'll be fine," (Y/N) said, though his teeth chattered a little while he looked out the window. He was wearing a turtleneck below his suit, but that was about it.

"You have my cell phone number?"

"Mom-"

"Your ambrosia and nectar, Percy? First aid kit for (Y/N)? Drachma in case you need to contact camp?"

"Mom, seriously!" Percy complained. "We'll be fine. Come on, guys."

Sally looked a little hurt, but Percy was already out of the car. The others followed him outside. The wind bit through (Y/N)'s suit jacket like cold daggers.

Once Sally's car was out of sight, Thalia said, "Your mom is so cool, Percy."

"She's pretty okay," Percy admitted. "What about you?"

As soon as he said it, Percy wished he hadn't. (Y/N) was doing a director's 'cut' gesture while Thalia just gave him the evilest look he'd ever gotten. Her punk clothes didn't help- the ripped-up army jacket, black leather pants and chain jewelry, and black eyeliner against her intense blue eyes.

"If that was any of your business, Percy-"

"Okay, let's get inside," (Y/N) interrupted, wrapping an arm around Thalia. "It's freezing out here."
