You & I

This was requested by hev_tv, but when I read their request, I didn't see the part where it said not to paint this person as the villain, and I 100% did so I apologize for that😭

Summary: Taylor and Travis attend a charity event hosted by one of Travis's football teammates and close friends, only to discover a big part of Travis's past also happened to be at the event and caused some tension to grow between Taylor and him.

"Thank you so much for coming!" Brittany Mahomes greeted Taylor and Travis at the door as she wrapped Taylor in a hug.

"Thank you for inviting us!" Taylor replied, tightening the grip she had on her. "Of course, of course! And thank you so much for that donation! That was so kind! We definitely wouldn't have been as successful as we are if it weren't for you two." Brittany smiled, going over to hug Travis as well.

"Of course, it was our pleasure. We're just glad we could help." Travis smiled.

"Last time I checked, Pat, Chris, and Isaiah were talking in the living room, so they should still be there," Brittany informed them, releasing Travis from the hug. "So you're welcome to head on in. Taylor, some of the women are talking in the kitchen, so you can go in there if you want to or just stay with Travis, your call."

"I'll head to the kitchen first, then head to Travis after," Taylor replied, and Brittany nodded before realizing they were all still standing outside, so she let them in all the way. "Okay, make yourselves at home. There's beer and wine along with more alcohol in the kitchen and some food lying out, too." The couple nodded and headed to the kitchen.

"Okay, I'm gonna head to the living room to talk to Pat and Chris, come get me if you need anything, okay?" Travis said, grabbing a beer from the fridge as Taylor nodded.

"Alright, love you." He kissed her head softly before walking out of the room to head to the living room. Taylor turned around and headed closer to where a couple of the girls were hanging out. "Taylor! Hey, how're you doing?" Keleigh asked, wrapping Taylor in a hug. "Good, good. How're you?"

"Great!" She replied. Taylor hugged Chris's wife, Sheawna, and Rashee's girlfriend, Dacoda.

"Wine?" Brittany asked, coming back into the room. Taylor nodded, and Brittany poured her a glass. "So, how're you and Travis?" She asked, handing Taylor the glass.

"Amazing. He's like the sweetest person ever." Taylor smiled brightly, taking a sip of her wine.

"He really is. How long have y'all been dating again?" She asked.

"Uh, almost two years," Taylor replied.

"Hm, I don't wanna pry or anything... but it's been almost two years and I still don't see a ring," Brittany says, and Taylor feels her cheeks heat up.

"Haha, I mean, we've talked about it before." She shrugged.

"Really? And what was the verdict?" Sheawna asked, taking a sip of her wine as well.

"Uhm, we both want to get married, now just definitely isn't the right time, I'm doing a shit ton of prompts for Reputation Taylor's Version, I'm putting the finishing touches on my twelfth album, and I'm finally finishing up the touring for The Tortured Poets Department. Now definitely isn't the right time to get married."

"Alright, understandable, understandable. But I expect a call right away when it happens." Brittany demanded jokingly, and Taylor nodded. "Yep."

Over in the living room, Travis was laughing with Chris, Patrick, and Miles, who joined their conversation a few minutes into it. "Hey, is Taylor here?" Patrick asked, noting the absence of Travis' girlfriend he was usually attached to at the hip.
