Summary: Travis listens to The Alchemy for the first time and when he hears "that child's play back in school, is forgiven under my rules" lyric, he starts to feel guilty about the playboy rumors of his past, when Taylor discovers his insecurities, she's quick to clear everything up and let him know that she does and care about his past 'cause it has nothing to do with his future... with her.

FYI: I'm not claiming that the rumors about Travis cheating are true, I honestly don't think they are. But for the plot of this chapter, let's just pretend they are🫶
..............

"I haven't come around in so long... but I'm coming back so strong." Taylor sang gently while Travis watched her with a growing smile on his face.

Taylor was currently working on her new album and couldn't wait to show Travis the songs she wrote about him. Travis watched her with nothing but love in his eyes as she sang the love song she wrote about him, and he couldn't help but chuckle when she said 'touchdown'.

"Hey, you. What if I told you we're cool. That child's play back in school is forgiven under my rule." She continued to sing, playfully winking at Travis before going back to focusing on her guitar.

Travis tried to keep his main focus on the rest of the song but he couldn't help but let his mind wander back to that one lyric. 'That child's play back in school is forgive under my rule?' Travis wouldn't be surprised if Taylor did some internet stalking after finding out about his interest in her, and he'd be lying if he said he didn't do the same thing. Even though he already knew a lot since he's been a fan since her 1989 album.

Travis was fully aware of the fact that he was a dumb teenager, everyone was at some point, expect Travis finds it hard to believe that Taylor ever was a dumb teenager.

He did some things he regrets, like cheating, and he hates himself for the people he hurt when he was a teenager into his mid twenties, but he could also never imagine in his wildest dreams, ever cheating on Taylor. She was the love of his life, and he couldn't imagine his life without her.

Travis was scared out of his mind when the news came out that he cheated on his ex from a decade ago, that he went out with from his dating show. He also knew that Taylor has been cheated on multiple times and was terrified that she'd find out about this and then dump his ass out of worry that's he'd do it to her.

But she never said anything about it so Travis assumed she didn't see it, since she rarely goes on social media anyway, worried she'd find something hateful about herself.

But this lyric definitely brought up the past memories and made Travis think that maybe she did see it, and this was her way of saying that she forgave him and it was okay, but Travis still felt terrible about it.

"This happens once every few lifetimes. These chemicals hit me like white wine." Taylor finished singing, strumming the last chords on her guitar with a smile on his face.

Travis quickly resettled a smile in his face after realizing that it had disappeared due to his overthinking.

"So, what did you think?" Taylor asked, getting off of the floor and setting her guitar against the wall before walking over to Travis and settling into his lap.

"I thought it was amazing, baby. And I'm honored that I get to be the muse for a Taylor Swift song." Travis replied and Taylor blushed, setting her head on his chest.

"Are you okay though? It looked like you started contemplating a lot about halfway into the song."

Travis nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine."

"That was very unconvincing." Taylor replied.

"It's just..." Travis sighed but Taylor remained silent, not wanting to rush him through something that clearly seemed to be bothering him. "One of the lyrics just kinda got me thinking, that's all." He replied.

"What lyric?" Taylor asked.

"The 'that child's play back in school is forgiven under my rule' lyric." he replied.

"Oh, okay. Uh, why?" Taylor questioned, raising her eyebrows.

"It made me think maybe... you saw those cheating rumors from a couple months back?" Travis replied.

"I did." Taylor replied simply.

"Oh." Travis said, confused on his she said that so nonchalantly.

"What about it?" Taylor asked.

"I was just thinking that maybe that's what you meant but that lyric." Travis said.

"I mean, kinda yeah. But I said you were forgiven so..." Taylor shrugged, still not getting the big deal.

"So I just wanted to say, that, I used to be a dumb teenage boy. I mean, I pretty much was a teenage boy until I hit thirty, and I did some things that I regret, but I like to fully believe that I am a completely different person than I was all those years ago. And I know that I can't take back the things I did to people but I want you to know that you're the love of my life and I would never even think of hurting you, okay? I promise." Travis said.

"Hey, hey. It's okay." Taylor replied, sensing his nerves. "I understand. I've don't some pretty shitty things that I regret, so if I was mad at you then I'd just be a hypocrite. I love you and I trust that you'd never hurt time. So relax, okay?"

He nodded, but was still a little unsure. "Okay. I just wanted to be sure." He said.

"Well, I think it's adorable that you were worrying about it, but you don't need to." Taylor smiled, giving him a light kiss.

"I love you, Tay." Travis said, smiling at his girl.

"I love you too, Trav. Now, how did you feel about the song as a whole."

"It was amazing." Travis replied. "And you were very right, I was much more excited too give you a hug and kiss you then hold the trophy, 'cause even if the superbowl trophy was what we were there for, you were the best trophy there, and just the biggest and best trophy I've ever won."

"Awe, that's so sweet!" Taylor exclaimed, leaning into give him a deeper kiss. "I love you."

"I love you too." Travis smiled.
