Summary: Taylor and Travis were best friends when they were really young. From what Taylor could see, Travis didn't have a very good home life and when they were both in eight grade, something caused them to fall out of touch. But of course, they never forgot about each other.

"Mom, I'm leaving now to walk to Travis' house so we can walk to school together!" Thirteen year old Taylor Swift yelled as she walked to the door of her house.

"Okay, honey! Have a good day at school! Did you get the extra lunch?" Andrea called back.

"Yeah!" Taylor replied. She walked out the door and closed it behind her.

Taylor and Travis first met in third grade in school. They're now in eight and have been best friends since. Taylor's parents noticed pretty early on in their friendship that Travis didn't seem to have a very good home life. But Taylor, being the eight year old she was, didn't notice anything.

Until very recently, Taylor started to notice little things as well that didn't seem right. Like how Travis always wore long sleeves, even when it was ninety degrees out. They also always had playdates at Taylor's house, never at Travis'. Taylor only fully met his parents a couple times, and every time Travis always seemed to be scared around his parents, like he was walking on eggshells.

He also never brought lunch with him to school and rarely had lunch money to buy it, which is why Taylor always brings two lunches so Travis can have one.

Knocking on the door to Travis' house, Taylor waited patiently for a few seconds before the door opened and Travis smiled at her. "Hi, Tay."

"Hey." Taylor smiled.

"Mom, I'm leaving!" Travis called out, but after he didn't hear a reply for five seconds he sighed and stepped out of the house. "Did you sleep well, teddy bear?"

Taylor nodded. "Yep. Did you?" Travis nodded but Taylor saw a flash of something else in his eyes. "Everything okay?" She asked.

Travis nodded. "Yeah. Just, fighting." He sighed, referring to the constant arguing and yelling between his parents.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Taylor said and Travis just shrugged, as to say 'it is what it is'.

"Do you wanna sleepover at my house tonight?" Taylor asked. Whenever Travis' parents were fighting, Travis usually slept over at Taylor's house.

"Do your parents mind?" Travis asked, adjusting his backpack straps.

"Of course not. You're their oldest child at this point." Taylor replied.

Travis chuckled. "Okay, then sure."

"Awesome!." Taylor smiled. They talked as they walked the rest of the way to the school and then parted to go to their separate classes.

At the end of the day, Taylor and Travis met at the front doors of the school, ready to go home. "Hey, sooo, how'd the test go?" Taylor asked, referring to the math test that they both had to take today. Travis had always struggled in math but he knew that he'd get his ass kicked if he did bad in it so Taylor tutored him for two weeks so he'd do well.

Travis smiled shyly, blushing. "I got an A."

"What!" Taylor exclaimed. "Great job, Travis! That's amazing!"

Travis blushed even more at the praise. "What'd you get?"

"I got an A too." Taylor said. "Twins!"

Travis chuckled. "We're pretty amazing, huh?"
