We arrived at my luxurious Villa, and Aarush and I strolled towards the entrance, our hands locked together.
"Could you release my hand?" I questioned him.
"And why would I do that?" he replied.
"Because I need to grab the key," I responded matter-of-factly.
"Sure, let me take care of that," he said, smoothly retrieving the key from my bag without letting go of my hand. With the key in hand, he opened the door and we stepped into my opulent Villa.
As I began to speak, my words trailed off abruptly when I noticed the unexpected presence of several individuals in the living room, sitting alongside my brother and Isha Di.
"What on earth are these people doing here, Eatta?" I inquired of my brother.
"Riti, they showed up without informing me. I did not know about their visit. If I had known, you can be certain I would not have allowed them entry," he explained.
"Ritu—”
"Don't, Mrs. Vrinda Das Varma. I prefer not to be called by any nicknames, especially by strangers. Please keep your distance from me," I firmly stated, preventing her from hugging me."Riti-"
"Eatta, please," I interrupted my brother before he could say anything in favour of his mother.“So. . . This is the new man you're involved with now. Quite intriguing," sarcastically remarked Mrs. Madhavi Varma, who unfortunately happens to be my grandmother.
“He is the love of my life, not the destruction a family found for their daughter,” I retorted, subtly taunting her.
“Love of my life, nonsense. He is a Billionaire, right? Now I got it how did you become a Millionaire at this young age, obviously trapping Billionaires like this? You’re with him only for money not because of love.” She said.
“Mrs. Madhavi Varma, I already told you if a single bad word about my sister, my reaction will be harsh for you,” My brother yelled at her.
“Eatta, calm down. Let me give a good reply to her,” I said to him.
“Look, Mrs Madhavi Varma, it’s my personal life and I will live my life like I want and I don’t give any two flyings fuck what others are thinking about me and my love life. Neither I need your good certificate for the life I want to live. So you better stay out of this, got it?” I said to her passing a sarcastic smile.
“This how you talk to elders? Don’t you have manners?” Mr Das Varma asked Mr, the person who once I used to call Dad.
“Oh, who are you to teach me manners?” I asked him.
“Leave it Das, this girl doesn’t have manners. She is a culture-less and a character-less girl,” Mrs. Madhavi Varma said. I felt Aarush’s hold in my hand becoming tight and I looked at him, his jaw was ticking. He controlling himself from exploding and I know he only doing it for me. I stroked his hand with my thumb and he looked at me, I gestured him 'It's okay'.
“Mrs. Madhavi Varma, why should I show my manners to you? Did you deserve that? My nice side is only for the people who deserve it, You and your family are not included in that, okay? Look, manners and respect go two ways, if you’re an older woman doesn’t mean you will get respect and you will treated well wherever you go. So first you try to be in manners and then judge others,” I said to her.
“Okay maybe I lack manners but I didn’t sell my own body for money unlike you. You’re whore and you’re taking
me—”“Don’t you dare !”
“Mrs. Madhavi Varma!” two sounds boomed in the living room. One was my brother’s and the other was Aarush’s.
