The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled Rehaan's apartment, a comforting scent that always seemed to make the small space feel more like home. I sat on the worn leather couch, watching him expertly maneuver around his tiny kitchen, his movements as familiar as the beat of my own heart. Rehaan had been my best friend since childhood, a constant through thick and thin, a confidant who knew me better than I knew myself.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice tinged with concern, as he placed a steaming mug in front of me. I hesitated, my cheeks warming at the thought of confessing my awkward encounter.

"Nothing happened," I mumbled, hoping he'd drop it.

"Kuch tho hai," he countered, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Say truth, what happened?"

I shifted uncomfortably, wishing I could disappear into the patterned cushions of the couch. "How do you know I'm hiding something?" I finally asked, feeling a surge of frustration.

"Because I know you very well," he said with a knowing smile. "We've been best friends since childhood, remember?"

Just as I was about to confess, Rehaan's phone buzzed, interrupting the moment. "Yeah...where are you? I've been calling you since yesterday...Okay, one minute, I'll connect it," he said into the receiver before hanging up. He grabbed his laptop and settled at the small table in front of us, effectively putting my confession on hold, leaving me questioning if this was a blessing or a curse.

"Hey guys, how are you? All fine right?" The familiar voice of Ranveer crackled through the speaker, a perfect disruption to my otherwise peaceful day. It was almost as if he had a sixth sense for the exact moment I'd start thinking about Dhriti Krishna.

"For me, everything's fine, no worries, no frustration," Rehaan assured him, his voice laced with a playful annoyance. "But for Mr. Aarush Malhotra, nothing is fine."

My frustration was evident, and it was all thanks to Ranveer's untimely call. "Yeah… because of you today my day spoiled, Ranveer?" I retorted, my voice laced with exasperation.

"What? Are you mad? I'm in New York, how can I spoil your day?" He countered, oblivious to the chaos he'd inflicted.

"It doesn't matter if you're here or in New York, you'll always behave like this. Because of your phone call and unnecessary discussion, I hit that Lucifer's car!" My words were tinged with anger and frustration.

"What? Lucifer? Oh... Dhriti Krishna," Ranveer acknowledged, his tone shifting to concern.

"Is she alright? Nothing happened to her, right?" Rehaan asked, his concern genuine. I couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy.

"You are my friend, but you're showing concern for her?" I asked, a hint of bitterness in my voice.

"Because you are fine, we can see that, but she's not here so he asked if she's fine or not," Ranveer explained, his words dripping with a smugness that was all too familiar.

"Yeah… that's why I asked if she's fine or not. For the first time, you talked with some sense, Veer," Rehaan said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Ranveer, ever the narcissist, simply replied, "I always talk with sense, but you guys don't have as much sense as I do." His words, though arrogant, were a reminder that sometimes, even amidst chaos and frustration, there was a strange comfort in our shared absurdity.

"Oh please Veer! You don't talk about sense okay that's better. Then Aarush what did your Lucifer said. I'm sure she has said something or done something that's why you are this much frustrated," Rehaan chuckled, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
