Today is the haldi of Isha Di and Eattan. Everything was arranged perfectly and everything was perfect. Everything means everything. My mind is also perfect now. It has its peace and calmness because yesterday night Eattan came and talked to me. He even said sorry to me for shouting at me and now he is not even upset with me. I think he is ready to get along with Aarush as I can guess from the way he talked to me yesterday night. And it is the most thing I wanted now, my brother and Aarush get along nicely.
“Lily?” Papa’s voice reached in my ears.
“Yeah, Papa?” I shifted my gaze to him.
“Is everything good with you, Child?” Papa asked me.
“Yeah, Papa. Why did you ask that?” I asked him.
“Because yesterday I didn’t think you were good and I didn’t get the time to even ask you that? Is there any problem that I want to know?” He asked me again.
“Nothing is there, Papa. It was just I and Aarush had a small argument—”
“What he argued with you? Did he hurt you?” Papa asked seriously.
“Papa, it was a small argument and now everything is fine, okay? And he will never hurt me, I’m so sure of that,” I said.
“If he dares to hurt you, that’s it. He will never reach anywhere near you,” he said and how did I come between a bunch of overprotective men?
“We can think about if it happens, okay? Now let’s go to the garden area.” I said as I held Papa’s hand and we walked towards the garden area.
When we reached the garden area everything was looking fine and the function was about to start. I saw Eattan and Isha Di sitting in their respective place. I walked over to my brother and hugged him.
“Hey, What happened, Little one?” He asked patting my back.
“Nothing, it was just I’m happy for you,” I said as I broke the hug.
“Just for your brother?” Isha Di asked me.
“No. For you too,” I said as I hugged her too.
“Okay, I think it’s time to start the function,” I heard the voice of my so-called grandmother. Actually, they were here yesterday too but I ignored them like they never existed. Yesterday I had enough of to deal with so I didn’t pay any attention to them.
“Yeah, it is.” Aditi Ma said from her face I can understand how much she hates the presence of our family. If I say their presence didn’t irritate me it will be a lie because it is.
As I thought of getting rid of the presence of my unwanted family my eyes met with a pair of honey-brown orbs and that was my peace. A smile formed on my face I saw Aarush standing in between Aryan and Ayaan and his eyes were locked with me and there was a smile on his face too. He was wearing a white and yellow mixed kurta. I gestured him looking so handsome and he grinned from ear to ear.
Nincompoop!
“As an elder in the family, I think I should apply the haldi on them first,” My so-called grandmother caught my attention again as she came to apply haldi.
