Next morning.
The morning air buzzed with a quiet energy as Dhriti and Arjun prepared for their day. Dhriti, ever the early riser, had already whipped up a quick breakfast, a new routine since Arjun had moved in. Today, however, the usual warmth of their shared morning was tinged with a sense of urgency. The rumors swirling around them had reached a fever pitch, threatening to derail their carefully built careers.
A press conference, meticulously planned, was their only weapon against the onslaught of speculation and the invasive paparazzi. As they drove to the office, the silence in the car wasn't awkward; it was focused. They both knew the stakes were high, their futures hanging in the balance.
Upon arriving, they were greeted by a meticulously arranged press room, their team already in place. Ruhi met them with a reassuring smile. Dhriti, however, was consumed by a single question: who had orchestrated the leak of their private photos? "Henry," she demanded, her voice sharp, "have you found who clicked our pictures?" Henry shook his head, "No, Dk. I'm still investigating."
"Why are you taking this much time? Did you check the CCTV?" Dhriti pressed, her frustration mounting.
"Yes, mam. But our CCTV got jammed yesterday," Henry reported.
"What?! How?" Dhriti's voice shot up an octave, her office chair scraping against the floor.
"We don't know, mam. Our surveillance was flawless in the morning. It seems after the lunch break...the system was playing old footage, so our guards didn't notice anything amiss."
"What the fuck! How can this happen?" Dhriti erupted, her anger palpable. "In my office someone is planning everything perfectly against me, and I have no idea who it is. Henry, I want to know who is behind this, at any cost. I know it won't be easy, but I want to know who the bastard is who clicked our picture. Do whatever you want, but find out. Okay?" Dhriti's voice was a low growl, laced with fury and determination.
Henry, her loyal assistant, met her gaze with a steely resolve. "Okay Dk...don't worry I will find him."
Ruhi walked in, her voice a calming presence in the midst of the storm. "Riti...press is ready."
"Yeah, coming," Dhriti replied, her voice regaining its composure. She walked towards the press conference, a facade of calm plastered on her face. As she stepped into the spotlight, a barrage of questions assaulted her, each one a serrated blade aimed at piercing her carefully constructed image.
"Dk...Is you and Arjun Arora in a relationship? Did you delete the news and pictures from all sites? Is that pictures are real or morphed? Are you really in love Dk? Will your legal adviser and business partner Arjun Arora become your life partner? Is this news fake?" The reporters, fueled by the scandal, pressed for answers, their questions relentless. Dhriti, however, held firm, her smile unwavering, a calm eye in the storm of chaos.
A serene smile played on her lips as she addressed the reporters. "Okay guys. Please calm down. I will give answers to all your questions." Her voice, calm and collected, seemed to instantly quell the rising tide of chaos. The paparazzi, momentarily stunned by her composure, complied.
"First of all, guys that picture is not fake, it is real. But that doesn't mean Arjun Arora and I are in a relationship. We've been best friends for seven years, and we will remain best friends in the future. The news about us being romantically involved is completely fabricated. I'm trying to find out who leaked that picture. And I didn't delete any news or pictures from any sites. Actually, my team was trying to do that, but suddenly all the pictures and news vanished. In the process, some sites also got deleted. So I can't find which site published the story first. So that's it. Arjun Arora and I are best friends, and we are not in a relationship," she concluded. Arjun, standing beside her, nodded in agreement, his expression mirroring Dhriti's composure.
