As I turned around, I noticed Sidharth glaring at Dhriti in a rather repulsive manner, which irritated me. It seemed he wasn't satisfied with the encounter he had with her yesterday.

I made my way over to him, and Veer joined me.

"Sidharth, do you want another slap from her?" I joked, my tone teasing.

"Let me see your face, Sidharth. It looks a bit swollen," Veer said as he touched Sidharth's cheek.

“Ouch…” Sidharth winced in pain.

“Oh, my bad! I guess her slap must weigh a ton,” Veer remarked, and we both burst into laughter.

“Guys, please don’t make fun of me. It was an accident. I just wanted to talk to her, but she totally overreacted,” Sidharth defended himself.

“She overreacted? You grabbed her hand without her permission, Sidharth,” I pointed out, my voice cold.

“Alright, let’s drop it. I already apologized to her,” Sidharth replied.

“And what did she say?” Veer asked, taking a sip of his drink.

“As usual, she was cold… just told me to forgive her for my dad,” Sidharth responded. I wondered what he expected; of course she wouldn’t just forgive him after he forced her to holding her hand. At least she did it for Hitesh uncle’s sake.

I went to check on Aashu because my sister has a knack for mischief.

“Aashu…” I called out as she chatted with Dhriti.

“Yeah… bhai.” Dhriti glanced at me, and I avoided her gaze, feeling embarrassed thanks to that fool Veer.

Dhriti shifted over, and it seemed like she sensed my discomfort.

“Stay put. Don’t wander off or chat too much with strangers. Stick with Ayaan. If you get hungry, just go eat; I shouldn’t have to remind you,” I told her, giving her cheek a gentle pat.

I grabbed my favorite drink and noticed how stunning she looked in that red gown. It seemed like every man in the room was captivated by her, especially since this was her first business event where she was finally revealing herself. Today, most people were seeing her up close and personal, and it was hard for me to look away too.

“Don’t you think Rehaan and Dhriti are getting a bit too friendly?” Sidharth asked me, pointing out Rehaan and Dhriti, who were deep in conversation alongside Arjun and Ruhi.

“Yeah, they’re good friends…” I replied with a sigh.

“But she never talks to me like that, and she doesn’t talk to you either,” he said, hitting a nerve. It was true; she hadn’t spoken to me much—aside from a friendly chat at the office yesterday. I wondered what had changed.

“Anyway, forget it,” Sidharth said, turning to walk away.

I refocused on my drink and her presence, both of which were giving me a buzz. I thought I might be more infatuated with her than with alcohol. Am I falling in love? I can’t quite figure it out... I just know I’m drawn to her.

Sidharth was attempting to instill a sense of hatred in Aarush towards Dhriti by discussing the friendship between Rehaan and Dhriti, but his plan backfired as Aarush did not react in the way Sidharth had anticipated.
