“Congratulations, top one.” I smiled at Kade. Finally, first year of being a law student is done.
“Congratulations, top two.” He nodded and smiled back.
After the scenario in the hospital, my kuya Austin who is a doctor never let me live alone. Now I am living with him in the house he brought near our school, they never let me live alone because they thought it's better when one of them is monitoring me. Especially that he is a doctor.
I went to the therapist while studying to cope up with my emotions that day because I just couldn't accept the fact that Kade defeated me. I managed to stand again after being mentally exhausted. Though, my competitive side is still living inside me because after standing again, I spend myself studying and studying, because I know despite the words that my therapist had said for me to stop this side, I still don't know if I can cope up if ever I'll experience the same scenario again. However, one thing I always remember is the therapist words, according to her “It's okay to be competitive, but it's not okay to blame yourself for not getting the spot you wanted and the other person got it. Your life doesn't end in a single failure of achieving your goal, because one thing I am sure of, failure is a great motivation to stand and make it successful.”
As for me and Kade? We still argue but only in school, that won't change. But we are in good terms, I learned to accept that sometimes someone could be better than you, or you could be better with someone. It's not always your turn. We are the own climbers of our mountain of life. And when you are climbing, you'll experience hard steps on your way to the top. In a nutshell the cycle of life isn't always the same.
“How about a dinner, tonight?” I rolled my eyes trying to hide my smile. Is he for real asking me a dinner?
“A dinner with your competitor? Baka painumin mo ako ng potion ah na maging top 2 sa ranking sa second year.” I joked. He chuckled and lean on the wall.
“Nah, I should be saying that to you. Maybe it was you who gave me a potion so that I would be on the top 2 ranking this semester?” I laughed. Now, I could talk to him without arguing even outside school.
My realizations of reality really help me a lot.
“Oy, anong pinag-uusapan niyo mga anak ng batas?” Lumingon kami sa maingay na boses ni Soleia. She's walking with the new and youngest Attorney Professor in our school. Attorney Chisiya Montero.
“Attorney, you got a headache beside you.” I chuckled at Kade's word.
The attorney just smiled and Soleia answered him. “You mean a pretty headache? Awww. Bebe Kade loves me so much talaga!” They are really a good friends.
After the moments, we did really go on a dinner but with our buddies. Soleia, Jake and of course Soleia's “bff” Attorney Chisiya.
“Attorney, hindi ba sumasakit ang tenga mo sa kaingayan ni Soleia?” Attorney Chisiya just smiled.
“No, sanay na ako. Ever since I was graduating in law school and Leia is graduating in college we already know each other.” Kade smirked.
So, they knew each other already? Woah.
“Grabe kayo mga par! Alam mo rin 'to Kade? Grabe ang sakit, I feel betrayed.”
I thought he's that type of guy who has many girls. I guess I'm bad at guessing someone base on their physique huh??
“May crush ka pala?” Namula naman si Jake sa tanong ko.
“Na lack jaw ang tenga ko, I hear nothing.” Tawang tawa kami sa kaniya, bukod sa pag-aarte niya, pulang-pula talaga siya.
Is that really how a guy act when they are into someone? Just like how Attorney Chisiya always stares at Sol's face, and him turning red after hearing the girl's name.
Gosh, how does it feel to have a guy who's genuinely in love with you— Natigil ako sa mga iniisip ko when Kade whispered beside me.
“Hatid kita pauwi. I'll show you something.” Parang tumayo lahat ng balahibo ko sa gulat, or should I say, his voice sounds so good that it makes me feel that “slow-motion” moment.
“Bebe, are you okay?” Soleia asked me kasi hindi ako nagsasalita. Hindi Sol, pagsabihan mo iyang kaibigan mo.
“Y-Yes, of course. I just thought how this food taste so delicious.” I fakely smiled and of course answer a false statement.
As if, I'll answer. “Your friend is making me feel theose emotions I never knew existed.”
God, I admit I am a hopeless romantic girl but I never knew that includes feeling weird emotions. What the hell.
After dinner, tinotoo nga ni Kade ang sinabi niya. Sumama ako sa kanya pauwi.
“Wanna talk about life while I am driving towards our destination?” He asked breaking the silence inside the car.
“Mhm. How about our likes and dislikes?” He smiled and nodded.
So I asked again. “So who will be the first to ask?” He turned his head towards me and answered “You, ladies first.”
“Uhm, what's your favorite color?” I asked him my first question. DzUh I know it's very common but it's important to know someone's favorite color para alam mo anong nakaka-pagpasaya sa kanila na mga kulay.
“Black, it feels peace.” He answered. I know what he means. When you are in a dark room alone, it feels peaceful. You never have to listen to others voices.
“It's my turn, I won't ask you what's your favorite because I already know.” Huh??? Did Soleia told him?
“What do you mean? Only Soleia knows.” Sagot ko. Totoo naman, how could a person know someone's likes without someone telling them dib—
Bago pa ako matagalan sa pag-iisip he chuckled. “I noticed your every move. No, I'm not a stalker of course. But I am an observant person. Every time you enter our room, or when you are with Soleia you always have skyblue, baby-blue, or any blue colors with you. I know whenever we argue we always say this statement “you cannot draw a conclusion.” However, when you have blue colors with you, kahit kapag naiinis ka, lumiliwanag ang mata mo kapag nahahawakan o nakikita mo ito. Remember when we were in the mall? May nadaanan tayong keychains tapos blue ang una kong dinampot kahit maraming kulay. At sobrang saya ng mga mata mo. Hindi ko diyan na notice nang una na favorite mo ang blue, kasi noong time na nag kabanggan tayo, you are wearing a blue clip, with a pair of sky-blue cardigan, your things always have blue. If I state every moment that I saw you with blue colors with you, baka maubos lahat ng oras sa paglilitanya ko of how many times I've noticed you.” I feel so flattered, my family knows everything about me because I am living with them and they noticed me. However, knowing that someone around me who isn't my family always notices my favorite or what I do? Feels so nice.
