We’re having our class right now with our last subject about Law on Intellectual Property and our Professor is announcing the pairs of the assignment she left us. Hindi kasi individual ang activity raw. Mas mabuting e pair up niya para mas madaling matapos dahil alam niyang marami rin kaming gagawin na readings and task sa other subjects lalo na at third year na kami.
“Is it okay with y’all kung maging mag ka-pares si Ms. Del Moore at Mr. Lopez?”
It was the nonchalant guy at the back. If I am right his surname is Kimura, noong nag tie kasi kami ni Kade nakita ko sa list ang second ay iyong rank three noong last semester ng first year, at ang nag rank three kasunod noong nag second saamin ni Kade ay si Kimura.
“I have an objection.” He calmly said.
From my observation, Kimura is a Japanese.
“What is it Mr. Kimura?” Without any emotion on his face, he answered immediately. “I disagree if you will pair Ms. Del Moore and Mr. Lopez.”
“Seems like you are the only one here who disagrees. Why so?” Our Professor asked him na parang binabasa ang isip niya.
Without thinking, Kimura answered our Prof immediately again. “Because I want to be paired with Ms. Del Moo—” Hindi pa nga siya tapos ay tumayo na si Kade.
“Do you know the word ’majority’ Mr. Japanese?” Malamig na tanong ni Kade. I saw how Kimura smirked with Kade’s words.
“Of course. I’m not dumb. But, do you also know someone’s own opinion?” This time, walang emosyong balik tanong nito kay Kade.
Everyone notices the tension of anger inside the classroom, pero kahit Professor namin ay maigi lang nakinig.
“Back to you, of course. I’m not dumb. What do you expect? I was one of the rank one last year, alangang hindi ko alam.”
“Oh, edi goods! Alam mo pala eh. Huwag mo na akong tanungin. So, yes Attorney. I disagree if you will pair Ms. Del Moore and Mr. Lope—” Hindi siya pinatapos ni Kade at agad niya itong sinagot.
“You are one of the rank one also, I bet you know what our subject means? Law on Intellectual Property. Mag-aabogado ka ‘di ba? Edi alam mo anong ibig sabihin niyan?
I’m afraid their argument will be worsen.
Syempre, isang Thaddeus Kade Lopez, he will always counter-argue every argument he will receive.
