AN: I hope you all found my April Fool's joke funny! (Again I apologize for the errors) The chapters will continue to be published as planned!
The car ride home wasn't as grueling as you'd imagined it, your head raced with excitement as you planned your intended escape route. You tossed around the business card in your hand, reading and rereading the phone number, 1-800-FAZ-FAZBEAR. The image on the face of the card was a cartoon depiction of the main characters. You traced your finger over Freddy's as you smiled down at him.
As the truck rolled up your driveway, you tucked the small piece of cardstock into your pocket. You opened the door before walking into your house, dashing up the stairs to your room, you grabbed your laptop and sat on your bed before opening your makeshift messaging app to see dozens of frantic messages that Freddy had sent seemingly around the time Dave was giving you the tour.
"Y/N you can't take that job!" He'd beg, "You can't trust him, Y/N, don't take the job." You scrolled down further, "I'll be fine Y/N, don't rush into this, please don't take the job." The following messages were all of similar content except for the last, when those messages were translated from binary, they came up as incoherent gibberish.
You tried again and again to get a readable message out of it but nothing worked. You typed up a short message, asking Freddy to clarify what he wrote and why you shouldn't take the job but once the sent button was pressed, the site crashed. The screen filled with lines of code that shot upwards faster than you could read until your P.C. forced a restart.
You shut your laptop, setting it on your stomach as you lay back. You pulled the card back out, looking over the information on it. "Why wouldn't he want me to take the job..." You mumbled to yourself. You thought back to look on Freddy's face during the tour, how he'd so easily fold and give up pretending to be a mere object just because of Dave's voice.
You knew Freddy didn't want to be there and the answer as to why wasn't something you knew. You had to get him out of there. You checked your laptop again to see that its reset had finished. You opened your browser and it prompted you to reload your pages which, out of habit, you'd agreed to.
"Hey, Y/N. I apologize for the messages I sent you. The job would be a great opportunity not just because you'd get to see me, but because of the welcoming environment! I hope that you will consider my offer." The formality of the message didn't sit right with you but then again, Freddy was artificial intelligence...
You lay there, knowing what to do, knowing to take the job despite Freddy's warnings. You could sense a nervous feeling rising in your stomach, you were conflicted. Taking the job was an easy way in but why did it make him so nervous? Not just that, why would he change his mind so suddenly like that?
Downstairs, your parents talked quietly about you and Freddy. "Why would she hide something like that from us..." Her voice shook with every word as your dad took her hand. "Maybe she was worried we'd get rid of him?" Your mom shot him a look, "Of course we'd get rid of that thing! It's dangerous!" She yelled, slamming her hands down on the counter.
Your dad didn't try to disagree, he felt the same way. He wished you would've just told him but the thoughts of why you hadn't told him only fueled his fears. You walked into the kitchen, "I heard screaming, is everything okay?" Your mom huffed, "No! Everything is not okay!" She dropped back into her seat as she tapped her foot against the floor.
"Go back to your room, Y/N." Your dad commanded. You started to walk up the stairs but stopped when you heard them start talking again. "You need to calm down hunny..." Your dad said gently, "Why should I calm down? Who knows what else she isn't telling us!" Your dad sighed, "Y/N's a good kid..." Your mom turned away.
"If she wants to go behind our backs and do stupid shit, she's going to suffer the consequences." Your dad forced her to look at him, "Consequences?" He asked. "I want her grounded for the rest of the summer!" She said as she stood up, "The rest of the summer..." you mumbled, how could you save Freddy if you were stuck at home?
Despite your panic, you kept listening. "We have other things to focus on. After we get Lydia a lawyer, we can worry about that." Your dad placed his hands on your mom's waist as he gently kissed her. You watched them silently, feeling your anger build inside you. Lydia, all they carried about was Lydia. You held back tears as you quietly made your way to your room. "All they carried about was Lydia," Your thoughts screamed at you.
You sat down next to your bed, the spot Freddy would sit at. You took out your phone, listening to every beep that played as you dialed. "1-800-FAZ-FAZBEAR." You gripped your phone as it rang, "You've reached Circus Baby's Pizza World!" A cheery prerecorded voice said as you hung up, you decided you didn't want to deal with that.
You got up and decided to start packing a bag. If all they wanted was Lydia, then all they'd have would be Lydia. You piled your bag full of clothes plus your laptop and charger. What else would you need? You looked around, food and water. Your parents were probably still in the kitchen so doing that now wasn't an option.
You'd do that tomorrow... You got on your phone again, looking for something like an apartment to rent. You knew you'd move out eventually but like this? It felt more like you were running away. You were running away, the only difference was that you were legally an adult so what you are doing is fine.
It was now around two in the morning, your bag was stuffed with mostly everything you needed: clothes, a toothbrush and toothpaste, money, chargers, your laptop, and a blanket. You lay down on your bed exhausted from all the planning. You were happy you'd be seeing Freddy again soon, it felt like he was the only one who cared for you.
Was this the right decision? Leaving your parents with no warning... It has to be. They only care for Lydia, they wouldn't miss you, nobody would, nobody except Freddy. You stared at the ceiling, feeling your eyes get heavy as they slowly closed.
