The beach is quiet

The beach is quiet. Almost peaceful. The wind blows her hair in front of her face, but she doesn't mind. The sand is wedged between her fingers, but she's too wrapped up in her head to be bothered.

The gentle sound of the waves lapping against the shore makes itself known in her ears, ringing and echoing, slowly and surely. The beach feels safe to Nova. Somewhere she can rest, if only for a moment.

Currently, she's going through a memory. One that still rests very close to the center of her heart; one that is still very painful to think about.

But it's not a bad memory. Just one with a person who had passed in an awful way.
