My sister is Natalie.

Natalie and Evan have been dating since they were freshmen. So they were fifteen. Now they're seniors. Eighteen. I'm a junior. Sixteen. Jasper is also a junior. But he's seventeen. Every day since freshman year the four of us would hang out. Whether it was at me and Natalie's house or Evan and Jasper's house. Natalie never had a problem being the only girl in the room until junior year.

The year when Evan proposed to her.

No, I'm not talking about an actual proposal of marriage I'm talking about a proposal to a promise. "Promise me that when we get out of this hell hole you'll still be by my side," those were Evan's words which is what Natalie told me. And well of course she kept that promise.

Back to what I was saying about Natalie. So yeah, my sister got a ring on her finger and ever since that day, she's become extra clingy to Evan. Jasper and I found that gross about our older siblings but at the same time it was cute. They did everything together like they were still in their honeymoon phase. Which left me alone with Jasper on most days when Evan and Natalie went out.

I never noticed it before; Jasper's sharp jawline, the way his dimples poke out when he smiles, how much longer his hair gets when it's wet, and his muscles that tend to poke through his compression shirts he often wore after the gym.

But there was one problem.

No, I'm not hiding my feelings because his brother is dating my sister. No, I'm hiding my feelings for him because he's straight.

Always has been from the countless stories he would tell me and Evan about the number of girls he's been with. But when you get stuck in a house alone with your sister's boyfriend's brother, who looks good without even trying, what are you supposed to do?
