We were five minutes away from school and for once the car ride was quiet. Besides Natalie whispering to Evan about something that I could barely hear. Jasper was sitting beside me, on his phone, most likely texting Makayla. I glanced over at him and realized that it wasn't Makayla who had his attention this morning. I couldn't read the contact name but I was sure that it wasn't her. Jasper and Makayla's messages always consisted of hearts back and forth to each other. This time the messages consisted of short texts from both of them. I looked away when he turned his phone off and hoped it wasn't too obvious that I was looking at him.

"Have you thought about what I said," Jasper spoke in a low tone that I was still able to hear.

I looked at him again with a raised eyebrow. "What do you mean?" I asked.

"About getting a girlfriend," Jasper clarified.

Oh right. That.

"I haven't thought about it," I said with a shrug.

See this would be a whole lot easier if I didn't have to pretend to be interested in girls. I could just tell the three of them in the car right now that I like boys. How do I know that I like boys? Because I have a crush on my sister's boyfriend's brother.

"Well, what are you going to do this weekend?"

I tried not to let my mind soar too far about what he meant by that question so I just shrugged my shoulders.

"I'll figure something out," I said but had no intention of doing that.

"Is Ryder going to be at practice tomorrow?" Evan asked, stopping my conversation with Jasper.

"He said he might," Jasper responded then turned his phone back on. "If he didn't already make plans with Sasha."

"Who's Sasha?" Natalie asked, inserting herself into the conversation.

"Sophia's sister," Jasper replied.

"The one that you dated?" Evan asked then let out a faint chuckle.

"I didn't date her, we were just hanging out."

"Right and so are you and Makayla," Evan said.

"Can you just focus on getting us to school so I don't have to miss my first period again," Jasper said.

I could sense that he was starting to get irritated with the way our older siblings were talking about his love life. It's not that complicated really. Sure Jasper has been with multiple girls and yeah he never claimed them to be his girlfriend but there was something about Makayla that made it seem like he wasn't just sleeping around with her. I've paid a lot of attention to Jasper and he has never been with a girl as long as he has been with Makayla. So maybe it was possible that she was more to him. The only thing I couldn't understand was why he was getting so annoyed by it.

Evan pulled into the parking lot of the school, parking his car in his assigned but unassigned spot before he unlocked the doors so we could get out. I closed my door but Jasper left his open and quickly made his way to the west side of the building, leaving us behind.

"What's wrong with him?" Evan asked, closing Jasper's door and when I turned to look at him I realized the question was directed to me.

"How am I supposed to know?" I said with a shrug.

"He'll calm down by the time lunch rolls around," Natalie said while she flipped her hair so it wasn't tucked underneath her backpack. "I'll see you later babe."

She pressed her lips to Evan's before she made her leave to the east side of the school building. Now it was just me and Evan once again. Luckily there wasn't any silence that was able to build up between us because Evan spoke up immediately.
