I was walking with Jasper and Ryder through the parking lot of the school after they finished their basketball practice. Their coach worked them extra hard only because they have a game tomorrow against a team they supposedly can't seem to beat. The smell of their sweat dripping off their bodies was burning my nostrils and I just wanted to hurry and get to Evan's car and then to my house so Jasper could shower. And the worst part; I was in between them. Ryder was on my left and Jasper was on my right. Natalie and Evan were trailing behind us in their own conversation while Jasper and Ryder changed their conversation for the sixth time.

"Did you get a ticket to the game for Sasha?" Jasper asked, looking past me to lock his eyes on Ryder.

"Of course I did," Ryder said with a chuckle. "But speaking of Sasha." He paused and when I felt his eyes on me I turned my head slightly before he continued. "Her and Sophia are throwing a celebration party after the game tomorrow. You two wanna go?"

"An early celebration for a game that we haven't played yet?" Jasper questioned.

"You guys will win," I said, then glanced over at him and nudged his arm.

"Yeah and if we don't?"

I rolled my eyes not even bothering to answer that question. "Can I invite Preston?" I asked once I was looking at Ryder again.

"Who's Preston?" he asked but before I could answer he shook his head. "Never mind, don't answer that. You can invite anyone that you want."

I smiled softly, most likely failing at hiding how excited I was. I'm not big on crowds but with Preston there I already know that I won't be too focused on anyone else.

"Jasper," Ryder called out and when I glanced over at him his eyes were back on his phone.

"Hmm," he managed to respond.

"Are you going?" Ryder asked him once again.

"Is Makayla going to be there?" Jasper asked but did not make eye contact with either one of us.

I know (sort of) that Jasper and Makayla broke up but from what Ryder told me they were still together. So I didn't know how to feel about that. I looked at Ryder and he looked at me then shrugged his shoulders before saying, "Who cares if she's there."

When I heard Jasper let out a breath I watched him put his phone away finally giving us his attention. "Find out, then let me know."

"Alright," Ryder said. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."

He walked away from us, making his way to Sophia's car. Not that I was being nosey but both of the sisters were in the car. Sophia in the driver's seat, Sasha was in the backseat and was soon joined by Ryder also in the backseat. I know Sophia had to feel uncomfortable. Once they drove out of the parking lot I turned to face Jasper, trying to find something for us to talk about. Only there was one thing on my mind.

"You should go," I said, bringing us back to the party conversation.

We finally got to Evan's car, both of us standing by the backseat doors, waiting for our older siblings to get to us. It's not like we were walking that fast but somehow it seemed like they were moving in slow motion.

"I'll go," Jasper finally confirmed but before I could say anything he added, "as long as Makayla isn't there."

I scoffed and rolled my eyes once again.

"I'm serious," Jasper said with a shrug.

"It's not like you to have an ex stop you from going out with the team," I stated.
