It didn't take a lot of convincing for me to go with Jasper to meet up with Ryder in the park. Of course neither one of us had our license so Evan drove us to the park, while Natalie slept in at their house. I was sitting in the backseat, Jasper in the passenger seat, and Evan behind the wheel. The whole drive I was hoping that the brothers didn't think that I was actually going to pick up a basketball.

"I didn't know you liked playing basketball, Ashton," Evan said.

Great.

"I don't," I said.

"Then why are you going?"

"He didn't have a choice," Jasper said before I could say anything.

"I did have a choice," I countered, leaning forward on the center console. "You just wouldn't leave me alone."

Jasper shrugged then turned in his seat, locking his eyes with mine, almost causing our noses to touch. "Both can be true," he said in a low tone. Now he looked at Evan. "I'll make sure I get a video for you and Natalie."

Evan chuckled then turned into the parking lot of the park. "Go easy on him," Evan said once he parked the car on the side of the basketball court.

"I'll do my best," Jasper said.

He stepped out of the car then I did the same, letting out a sigh. We closed our doors and waited for Evan to drive off before we walked onto the court. I saw Ryder tossing the ball around but he wasn't alone. Hugo stood underneath the basketball hoop as if he was guarding Ryder from shooting and Gavin sat on the bench, watching the two play.

"I thought you said it was just going to be you, me, and Ryder," I said in a whisper that was still loud enough for Jasper to hear.

"I thought so too," Jasper said. "Oh well."

"Jasper-"

"Warming up without me!" Jasper called out as he jogged over to his friends.

"You know I'm not a patient person," Ryder chuckled. He tucked the basketball underneath his arm before pulling Jasper into a quick hug.

"What's up, Ashton," Ryder said once I was standing in front of him. "You playing?"

"No," I said quickly. "Just came to watch."

"You should jump in," Hugo said. "Two on two so it'll be even."

I looked over my shoulder noticing Gavin sitting on the bench, listening in on our conversation. "Gavin-"

"I don't play," he said quickly.

"Well neither do I," I said.

"Just one round," Ryder said.

"I..."

"Come on Ash," Jasper spoke and when my eyes locked on him there was no way I could say no now. It had to be the nickname that caused me to fold immediately.

"Fine," I said with a slight roll of my eyes.

"Yes!" Ryder exclaimed. "I want Jasper."

"Fuck no," Hugo said, tugging on Jasper's arm causing him to stumble back under his arm. "I got Jasper. You can have Ashton."

"Why?" Ryder questioned and I would be lying if I didn't take offense to that but I did.

"What sense does it make to put you two, the ones that actually play basketball, on a team together?" Hugo stated.

That did make sense.

"Alright, whatever." Ryder grabbed my arm, pulling me closer to him. "I'll take Ashton."
