Too Sweet || Blaise Zabini

You're soft.

At least one of the Hogwarts houses throws a party when the weekend strikes. It usually depends on what they're celebrating. If they win a quidditch game or a birthday of someone popular is coming up, the parties get more frequent and overlapping.

The professors know about them, but they don't have the need to turn them down. If it gets too late or the drinks start flowing too heavily, they will interfire, but while everything is in order, they have no reason to.

Even Snape, head of Slytherin house, lets the parties pass under his nose. He must be aware of them, yet his preference for his students comes in handy whenever they get caught. The students usually send Draco or Pansy to tell a sob story to him and he lets them off with a warning.

Kali has done her fair share of partying while at Hogwarts, she is in her seventh year after all. Still, at every party she goes to, she makes sure to stick to her limits and not overpass them, because that only leads to trouble and she hates waking up wondering what happened last night.

The Slytherin common room is blinking with green lights, strobe colors all around. The music is loud, some type of muggle rap. There are so many people that it's hard to walk, everyone is dancing. The birthday girl is up on a table, drinking from a glass bottle and dancing around.

Kali clings to Blaise, not wanting to get lost in the commotion. His hand grips her waist tight enough to not be separated by the shoving. His hand is big enough to grab onto a big part of her body, so she angles towards him as they walk.

They finally get to their friends, who are sitting in a more secluded area, yet it's crowded nonetheless. Camden has a drink in his hand; he's chatting up Carla, who is noticeably drunk. Draco is laughing at whatever they're saying, already a few drinks in himself. As soon as they see the couple, they smile at them.

"Hey, Kal!" Carla shouts as she stands up and sways in place. Camden steadies her, but he's not too good himself. Kali approaches her and hugs her with the hand that doesn't have the present in it. "I'm already a bit tipsy, but I've been having fun."

She laughs at her friend, who falls back into the couch, half on top of Camden, but he doesn't look uncomfortable. "I can see that." It's obvious she's having fun, her flushed cheeks and crooked smile a telltale sign.

Pansy shouts as she comes over to them, a huge smile on her face as she lifts her arms and wiggles around when she gets close. She goes towards Blaise and wraps an arm around neck. "You came!" She yells into him as he hugs us back. When she pulls away, she looks at Kali with a curious look. "Hey, girl! Glad Blaise convinced you to come!" She hugs her as well, she's taller so Kali puts an arm on her back.

Kali offers her the girl bag she packed herself. Since she didn't know Pansy that well, she bought her a snake ring she saw at Hogsmeade that made her think of the dark haired girl. "Happy birthday! This is for you."

Pansy claps her hands like a happy child, taking the bag from her. She rips open the tissue paper and pulls out the present. Her face lit up like it was Christmas and she put it on right away, admiring it in the green light. "Thank you so much! I love it!" She threw them a kiss and went back to the dance floor where people were waiting for her.

Blaise looked around where their friends were sitting and there was only one seat, a comfy chair. He didn't have any plan to dance until he had a few drinks in him, so he sat down, his legs open as always. Kali looked around awkwardly for a seat for her. Carla, Camden and Draco were tight in that sofa, so there was no space for her.

Blaise noticed her scan of the place for a seat, and acted on impulse. He yanked her towards him, making her a bit unbalanced, so she fell on his lap, her legs slung across his body and her weight on one of his legs. His hand gripped her waist to keep her in place.
