I didn't think you would mind.

As soon as Kali left Blaise's dorm, the tears started flowing out of her. As much as she tried to remind herself that she knew this was fake, it didn't feel fake at all. It felt like her heart was being broken in half.

Of course she didn't help him in hopes that he would pay her back or anything of the sort, but it felt rather harsh how he made her leave when all she wanted to do was help. She wasn't a part of his friends, and she understood, yet she was the one that helped him, and he repaid her by being dry, like he wanted to ice her out.

Her fingers wiped at the wetness on her cheeks, trying not to look like a lunatic while she walked to her dorm. Thankfully, her class was in a few hours, so she had time to decompress before having to face anyone. Most people were in class, and the ones she saw were too caught up to notice her crying.

It was pathetic to cry over a boy that stated from the beginning that he does not do love. Her soft heart was too mushy and got attached to Blaise, even when she warned herself to stay away. It was impossible. He puts on this hard front but fake dating him made her feel more than she ever felt when she was with Simon.

She got used to the good life. Camden and Draco fit in perfectly with her and her friends, and Blaise was kind, so he fit right in as well. It was fun hanging around with them, but that was over.

This marked the end of her and Blaise's deal. She couldn't fake date him when she felt a hole in her heart whenever she thought of him. This meant that they would have to invent some sort of breakup to feed the people that cared about their relationship. She probably needed to tell Carla so she could help her make up a plan, but her best friend was going to be mad at her for lying, which is expected.

Once she was in the hufflepuff common room, the stretch to her dorm was short, so she made a run for it. Her legs picked up the pace as she opened her door and went straight for her bed. She tried to get comfortable and take a nap before classes, but there was something missing. Maybe it was the warmth that Blaise provided, or maybe the way his slytherin sweater felt on her body; whatever it was, it prevented her from falling asleep, which made her cry more.

Tears fell from her eyes, but she never sobbed. She didn't allow herself to sob over something that was inevitable. Her bed was soft enough, so she didn't make an effort of cleaning her face or drinking water. Rotting away in bed seemed like such a good idea at the moment.

Some say crying alone is sad, but Kali liked it. No one else would see her vulnerability, which she didn't like to show. Her pity party was short lived, because someone opened the door of the dorm. She quickly closed her eyes, trying to act like she was asleep.

Whichever roommate it was started rummaging through the bookshelf, which gave Kali a hint. It was Penelope. This is the first time they have been alone since she started dating Simon and she missed her best friend. Still, she kept her eyes closed.

"You don't have to act like you're asleep." Penelope spoke, her voice the same as always. A bit playful and a bit professional. "Your eyes aren't fluttering, they do that when you are really sleeping."

Muttering some curses under her breath, Kali opened her eyes and sat up, trying to use her hair to cover her swollen face. "Yeah, I was trying to take a nap before class."

Penelope nodded, looking for something in her trunk now. Once she faced Kali, her eyebrows scrunched together. "Why are you crying?"

"Just thinking about an upcoming test I have." That was the only lie she could think of and it is horrible.

"Was it Blaise?" Penelope asked, pressing into the issue when she had to right to ask about that after she abandoned her friends.

Kali shook her head, trying to be convincing, but she was sure her face gave everything away. "No, not particularly."

With a breath, Penelope turned away from Kali, her eyes filling with an emotion that she couldn't decipher. "I don't understand you as a couple."

This annoyed Kali, because she was the one that was dating her ex boyfriend. If a couple didn't make any sense, it was them. "I don't get you and Simon either, yet here we are."

This seemed to strike a nerve with Penelope, which made her eyes thin in Kali's direction, like she was analyzing her. "I didn't think you would mind." Her voice was trying to sound nonchalant, but it was tightening by the second.

"I wouldn't have if you had talked to me." Kali said truthfully. All she wanted was for her friends to be happy. "But going behind my back when you knew I was sad is just a low blow, Pen."

"Yeah, well there's no point in arguing about it now." Penelope replied with some finality in her tone, which confused Kali a bit because she didn't think this was a fight, more so an intense conversation. "What's done is done."

She sighed, rubbing her head with her hands. Blaise had just cut her out and now Penelope was picking fights. "I know you are going to walk away, but if you did something you should be mature enough to talk about it. Especially with someone affected by the situation."

Penelope rolled her eyes, her mouth going to a straight line. "You act all high and mighty like you're not dating one of the meanest boys in school. Plus, you kept it a secret from us."

"Just because he's a Slytherin doesn't mean he's a bully." Kali answered, still defending Blaise no matter what her feelings were. "And why would I tell you? So you can go talk shit with Simon?"

"Ever since you started dating that boy, you have become a bitch." Penelope said.

Kali gave her a dry chuckle. "I could say the exact same thing to you."

This made Penelope irrationally angry. She stomped away from the dorm, slamming the door in the process. Carla would freak when she found out about this fight.

Whatever this was made Kali feel even sadder than she had before she saw Penelope. The words hurt, and all she wanted to do was crawl into bed with a certain slytherin, but she couldn't do that anymore
