I simply do not like you.

Blaise was tired, his body begging for some sleep, but his mind was impossible to calm down. That's why he was at the black lake, sitting close to the water but not quite touching it. The wind around the lake gives him some sort of peace whenever he's overthinking.

Today with Kali was a bit of a shit-show. She has been so distant that he thinks he did something wrong. Maybe he acted way too possessive or maybe she lost interest, yet he was having fun with this whole thing.

His head leaned against one of his shoulders, just hanging as the air swirled around him. The noise was harsh, enough to block out any other sound. That's why he didn't hear the person that snuck up next to him.

"Hey, baby." Daphne said from beside him, her blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail and her lips red. She was sitting very close to Blaise, her legs crossed.

"Shit," He muttered and opened his eyes, looking at her with confusion. "What are you doing here, Daphne?"

She shrugged, putting on that fake innocence that she wore as a mask. "I was just walking and saw you sitting here alone." Her eyes darted around their surroundings. "I don't see your girlfriend anywhere."

"She's not here right now." He responded, looking out to the water, trying to ignore her presence. She was like a parasite, you can't get rid of her even if you tried.

Daphne took a deep breath, relaxing, knowing that Kali wouldn't be around them and she could do whatever she wanted. "You know, I don't understand why you started dating her when I was right here." She motioned at herself like she was a prize.

Blaise looked at her in disbelief. She ruined his peace to come here and question his relationship. "She offered me something that you simply do not have."

"And what is that?"

"Damn it, Daph." He spoke, exasperated with her and Kali all at the same time. "I like her. I like her a lot, and the way she speaks and the way she laughs and how she smiles. I simply do not like you."

This made the blonde sitting in front of him rear back. "What the fuck is your problem?" Her eyes were a bit glossy, making him wonder if he was too harsh. "Why are you attacking me?"

"I'm not trying to hurt you, but it's disrespectful that you keep questioning my loyalty to my girlfriend." He replied simply, feeling a bit bad, not enough to take back what he said though.

Silence filled the air between them, both staring out into the lake. Truthfully, they hadn't just hooked up once. They hooked up at least five times, but they were the only ones that knew that. Blaise left it clear that there were no feelings involved, but Daphne just decided to ignore his warning.

"Look, I didn't come here to fight." Daphne said, her voice scratchy. She didn't look at Blaise, instead kept her eyes forwards, avoiding his face completely. "I just saw you alone and wanted to see if you're okay. I couldn't help myself in asking those questions."

Blaise took in a sharp breath, not wanting to wound the girl sitting next to him. They have known each other for seven years, and he doesn't hate her. "Thank you for your concern. I didn't want to say that to you, you just keep egging me on until I explode."

She shrugs, shaking her head at him. "That's what I'm good at. Pissing people off."

This made him laugh, but she hadn't said it jokingly. When he saw her sad face, he immediately went quiet and apologized. "Pansy seems to like you so that's one person you haven't pissed off."

"Maybe." She muttered under her breath. With a sharp movement, Daphne stood up, her hands going to her skirt and brushing off some of the grass that stuck to it. She didn't even speak as she gave him a stupid curtsy and left, swallowing tightly, her composure never breaking.

Blaise stayed stuck in place, his mind blank, not wanting to think of anything right now. That's when he had the greatest idea that he's had for a while.
