You're still hot, love.

Blaise couldn't sleep that night, checking that Kali was breathing every few minutes. In the middle of the night, she stopped snoring and he swore she died, so he refused to fall asleep in case something happened. He laid next to her, staring at the air until he felt her moving.

Truthfully, he was anxious since she really was burning up, the hottest he's felt a fever run. He didn't know if this was normal for her, but he hoped it wasn't. As soon as his friends were awake, he sent Draco to fetch her some tea and Camden to look for Carla.

Kali was unaware of the fuss being made for her, she just slept and had the weirdest fever dreams. Colors meshed and people appeared, but that wasn't enough to wake up from the amazing slumber she was having.

Draco came back with the tea, the smell of ginger filling the dorm. "The house elves were busy, sorry." He said to explain his long absence. "Are you going to class today?"

Blaise thought about it, but ended up shaking his head. "Until she's better I can't risk leaving her alone."

"Why don't you take her to the hospital wing. I'm sure they can help her get better in no time." He offered advice although he hated going to the hospital wing. It was so boring.

"Let's see what she wants to do when she wakes up. It seems like she'll stay asleep for a while." He eyed the girl then turned back to his friend. "If she wants to stay then I'll stay too."

Suddenly, a loud sound came from the hallways in front of their room. Carla threw open the door, her eyes filled with worry and her movements erratic. "Zabini, you have to stop kidnapping my best friend without informing me first!" She looked him in the eyes, anger in them. "I couldn't sleep because she promised me she would be at the dorm at nine and she never came back. I had to learn from fuckface that she was sleeping here with you, which is against the rules."

Blaise didn't really feel bad since he had been doing something right for a change, but he understood where she was coming from. "Sorry, Carla, but she looked like a zombie and she needed to sleep, so I brought her here."

Her expression changed from a scowl to a bashful smile. "I guess it was really cute and she's lucky you like her so much."

Now he felt bad, lying to Carla. He liked her enough to not want to feed her the same lies as everyone, but that was Kali's call. "I promise I'll tell you next time I kidnap her."

"This happens all the time." Carla looked at her friend with a worried expression. "She gets sick a lot, but Madam Pomfrey says there's nothing out of sorts with her. It's mostly stress that gets her like that."

"Could it maybe be that she gets so anxious her body just shuts down?" Camden asks, now looking concerned too. "How many classes is she in this semester."

"She's in eight." Carla says and everyone reacts with a gasp. Usually the most classes a student takes is six, but eight is way too much. "I advised her against it but she wants to graduate early."

"That's nice but she's going to die if she keeps it up." Draco adds to the conversation. "Someone needs to tell her to tone it down."

"You don't think I've tried?" Carla questions, her eyebrows furrowed. "I remind her every week to take some time for herself, but she never does."

Camden thought hard for a while, then spoke up. "Maybe we need to write to her mum, so she can know what's happening with Kali."

"No." Carla spoke harshly, like the idea appalled her. "We shouldn't bother Ms. Swan. She doesn't like being pestered with things like that."

"But that's her mum." Draco repeated, trying to understand why.

Carla rolled her eyes. "Would Lucius be happy if you bothered him every day?"

This shut him up, and he stared at the floor. His relationship with his father was strained, some different aspects affecting them. Narcissa, his mother, was much nicer than Lucius, so everyone naturally gravitated towards her. Blaise never really speaks to Lucius one on one, so he didn't really have an opinion on him.

Some sort of sound came from his bed, which made Carla rush towards Kali, placing her hand on her forehead to check her temperature. Kali grabbed her arm and grumbled something. This made everyone inch closer to her, trying to hear what she was trying to say. Draco had the tea in his hand, ready to hand it to her.

Kali looked around at everyone, her lips a bit pouted and her face pale. "Why is everyone looking at me?" She glanced at the watch Camden had on his wrist and shot up. "I have class in 10 minutes. Why didn't you wake me?"

Blaise approached her and set her back down, gently pushing at her chest. "You have to rest, so you can go to the infirmary or stay here. Your pick."

She looked at him, annoyment evident on her delicate features. "I guess I'll stay here."

It wasn't that the idea of staying in a dorm with Blaise alone made her scared, but she felt butterflies in her stomach and not just the ones from whatever cold she had right now. Although it was present in her mind that they were faking the whole thing, she couldn't really care.

Blaise nodded, sitting at the end of his bed to give her some space. "Okay, then I'll say here with Kali and Carla will pick you up at the end of the day."

"I'm perfectly capable of walking to my dorm by myself. Carla doesn't need to pick me up." She rolled her eyes, but snuggled closer into the bed.

"Nonsense." Her best friend said, a small smile on her face. "We have a buddy system, remember?"

They created the buddy system in their first year when they were terrified of the older kids, so they never had to walk alone. It started out seriously but then it was used to not be bored. If one had to go to the library they would claim they needed the other because of said system. This said moment was one of the many times it was used for one's benefit.

"Right," Draco clapped his hands once. "I have Snape's class and can't be late so I'll see you guys later." With that he left the dorm, almost running out the door.

Camden motioned at Carla so they can leave for the class they have together. Before leaving, Carla kissed Kali's forehead and rushed behind Camden. Those two seem to have chemistry, but you can never know with Camden since his face is always blank.

Now that the pair was alone, Kali spoke freely. "You don't have to stay with me. I can go to my dorm."

Blaise brushed her off, not really caring about his classes. "What kind of boyfriend would I be if I left you alone and sick."

"A fake one." She gave him a knowing look and sat up, leaning against the headboard. "I don't even feel sick anymore."

Within a second he was close to her and his hand was on her forehead, feeling if she had a fever. She noticed how long his eyelashes were, because they were really long. It seemed like he had extensions, but she knew he didn't.

"You're still hot, love." He muttered, his worries getting bigger as the time passes and she's still not better.

His comment made her smirk. "Why thank you, Blaise." She responded.

This elicited a chuckle from his throat and his eyes to jump from her outfit to her lips. Of course, this was all fake and he knew that, but he couldn't bring himself to care. She was pretty.

"When I went to drink butterbeer with Camden, he told me we need to fix some things with this whole plot since it isn't really believable." She blurted out, feeling the scrutiny of his gaze and also feeling the sickness that she had on her that wasn't making her feel confident.

Blaise sat up straighter, needing feedback if he wants to keep this game up. "What do you mean?"

"Supposedly it isn't believable that a player like you is with me if you don't 'corrupt me'." She says, but sounds stupid. "We need to kiss and be more touchy is what he said."

Blaise nodded. "Okay, I can do that." He settled in next to her in his bed, not asking because she moved closer when he sat down. "Maybe let's wait until you're healthy."

"You don't want some of this fever?" She asks, laughing at his joke a little. "I heard it makes you hot."
