The sickness that Kali had for the last few days left her as soon as it came. In no time she was healthy, ready to catch up with what she missed in class. Obviously, part of this was thanks to the amazing care Blaise gave her.
After those two days they were stuck together, any of the lingering awkwardness that they carried was gone. They talked about what Camden said and asked Draco if their relationship was believable. He said no like the little shit he is.
So, the couple hashed out a quick plan, to show more affection. Of course, they weren't going to make out in the corridors, but some more risque moves would be beneficial to their acting skills.
Kali was nervous, since her experience with PDA was super limited. Simon had been the only person she had truly kissed, so she was already overthinking having to kiss Blaise, even if it was for show. She wouldn't voice these concerns to him, because he would probably brush her off and call her crazy.
Her transfiguration class was usually boring, but she got a good grade in it by paying attention, even when her eyes wanted to wander somewhere else. Carla sat next to her, drawing on a piece of parchment. Kali trained her eyes on Mcgonagall, not missing anything of what she's saying.
That is until Carla leans in and starts talking to her. "We should really invest in a muggle car, right?" Kali just looked at her weirdly until she continued. "It could take us anywhere we need to go without informing the Ministry."
"You don't know how to drive." Was all she answered before turning back to the front.
Carla shrugged, her hair bouncing with her. "It can't be that hard if all the muggles do it. They have the capacity of goldfish."
Kali couldn't help but laugh at the thought. "You are way too mean, Carla."
This satisfied the girl because she turned to the front of the classroom with Kali, looking at their professor with interest. Carla never really cared much for academics, but she never got that bad of grades, just mediocre ones. Those grades satisfied her and her parents.
Once the class ended the girls bolted out of the classroom. It was their last class of the day and they were tired. Carla held on to Kali and they pushed their way through the busy corridors, trying to find the quickest escape to the courtyard. They had no plan on what to do but fresh air usually helped them.
The courtyard was beautiful with luscious green grass and the prettiest wildflowers in various colors. It was tradition that everytime they passed, they grabbed each other some flowers, like a little present. It was the simple pleasures that made Hogwarts bearable, especially for those two.
Carla handed Kali her small bouquet of flowers, which contained radiant flowers in her favorite color, blue. Kali handed Carla the other small bouquet in her hands, which was mostly yellow. They probably looked crazy to an outsider, but they hugged tightly.
"Love you, honey." Carla said as she continued walking.
Kali smiled at her. "Love you, too."
Penelope watched next to Simon and his smug face. She was once part of that ritual and the little things they did to make eachother happy, but now she was with Simon and his group of arsehole friends. The boy came up to her, all smiles and warmth, but he was now cold as the frost in the air. Jealousy bubbled in her chest, not only because she missed her friends, but because they seemed to be doing better without her.
Blaise, Draco and Camden sat under a tree, leaning against the trunk and relaxing before their quidditch practice. It was cold outside, but the wind cooled them down before the exercise they had to do in an hour. Blaise had his head back and his eyes closed, playing with a lighter in his hand.
The click of the lighter as it opened relaxed him enough to close his eyes, tuning out the outside word. Until, he felt his senses heighten and he opened his eyes. Unexpectedly, Carla and Kali were a few feet away from him, but they hadn't noticed the Slytherins.
Draco, being the annoying ferret he was, screamed at them. "Oi! The only Hufflepuffs we tolerate!" The girls looked in his direction, so he waved them over. "Come here!"
Following orders, they walked towards the boys, who were now more attentive than before, when they had been lounging around. The girls were holding hands and had bouquets in their free ones.
Kali was now standing in front of Blaise, thinking about where to sit. She didn't want to be forward, but this was her fake boyfriend after all. Blaise resolved that problem by pulling her down, her back to his chest and in between his legs. She was a bit shocked, but relaxed into him, enjoying the warmth he was giving her.
"Hello, my darling." He said, his voice too low for anyone to hear except Kali, which confused her. "Who gave you the flowers?" He leaned down and plopped a kiss on her jaw, making her shiver.
Maybe it was the cold that made her react like that. "Just Carla." She smiled at him. "I've never gotten flowers."
"What?" He reared back, but it was impossible since he was against a tree. "Didn't Chance ever get you some flowers for an anniversary?"
She only shook her head no, now feeling a bit bad about the situation.
"Hmm," Blaise hummed and she could feel his vibration in her chest. "Good to know."
She lifted an eyebrow in his direction. "What are you plotting, Zabini?"
He chuckled under his breath, which was quite literally the most attractive thing Kali had ever seen. "That's not for you to know, love. Just for me to ponder."
"You are so annoying." She laughed, and grabbed his hand. He always wore big silver rings, which she now got to see up close.
One was for a quidditch championship that Slytherin won. Another was a snake that wrapped around the bottom of his finger. The other just had a medallion on it, like some sort of crest, which she assumed was the Zabini crest, but Kali had never seen it before.
Blaise looked at the girl in front of him in all her winter beauty. Her hair was a bit frazzled and her nose a cute shade of red. What he really liked was her concentrated face as she studied his rings, which he never took off, not even to sleep or shower. He would give them to her, but her fingers are small and they would never fit her.
"You guys should come over after quidditch practice tonight." Draco said to the group. He acted all cold but he liked having girls around for once. "Cam's making some brownies."
Carla perked up at this. "Are those normal brownies or..." She trailed off, insinuating what she meant.
"Or." Camden smiled at her. He might look innocent, but the answer spoke for itself.
"We'll be there."
