Once the following day dawned, Trinity sat perched on the edge of her seat, her heart heavy with the weight of unspoken desires and unmet needs in Dr. Sabeen's office. And across from her, Meech lounged in a chair, masking his feelings with a relaxed expression, but inside, turmoil simmered, waiting to break free.
The room exuded an air of peace, with soft lighting casting a gentle glow over the plush furnishings. But a thick uncomfortable tension was in the air like electricity.
"I'm just exhausted from feeling unwanted from my own damn husband. It's this never-ending loneliness and sexual frustration he leaves me with. And all I want is to start a family and build a life with Meech, and he's well aware of that"
The woman finally admitted, her voice tinged with frustration and longing. She was done with holding things back. "I can't even remember the last time he gave me an orgasm Dr. Sabeen"
Meech's eyes flashed with anger, his jaw clenching in defiance—and a bit embarrassed to say the least. He didn't expect her to say that out loud, especially in front of someone they barely knew.
"Don't pin this on me, Trinity. You act like I'm the only one responsible for keeping our sex life and relationship alive. Yo' shit never wet whenever we do it"
"And whose fault is that Meech? Don't sit up here and front. Because trust and believe nothing on my body is ever dry. Like are you hearing yourself right now?" Trinity recoiled.
Dr. Sabeen intervened with a calm demeanor—a soothing balm to the rising stress. "Let's take a moment to breathe" She suggested, her eyes shifting between Meech and Trinity with a steady gaze.
"Meech, can you tell us what you're feeling and thinking right about now?"
Meech's shoulders tensed, his gaze flickering away from Trinity's eyes. "I just feel like I can't win" He muttered, his voice hinting with irritation. "No matter what I do, it's never enough for her dawg. She knows imma professor and I be busy"
Dr. Sabeen nodded, her expression one of empathy and understanding. "It sounds like there's a lot of hurt and confusion on both sides" She observed. "But it's important for both of you to feel seen and heard in this process"
Trinity's frustration then boiled over. "You can't keep using work as an excuse to ignore me, Meech" She declares with bitterness.
"Look, this shit was a stupid idea from the start. This isn't going to help us," The man said, rising to his feet, poised to leave the building. Prompting Tink to shake her head in disbelief, letting out an unbelievable laugh.
"Mr. Smith, if you want to save this marriage, I suggest you sit down and hear your wife out"
Dr. Sabeen interrupted with a stern voice, her glare lingering on Meech as he clenched his fists and exhaled heavily before resuming his seat. She nodded and then turned her attention to Tink, empathizing with her because she had been in a similar situation before.
