Even though the couple had made it back home from their trip a while ago, they couldn't stop laughing and reminiscing about how enjoyable and beautiful it was. From the beaches to the romantic dates to the late-night deep talks with their unborn child were amazing and a blessing altogether. The Bahamas had been everything they needed—fun, relaxing, and filled with memories they would treasure forever. And since they'd been back, life had been just as good.
Trinity had finally gone to her last court hearing with Meech too. After months of dealing with the situation, the judge reviewed all the evidence, and Meech was officially sentenced to eleven years in prison. Several of the college students who had been manipulated and sexually involved with him came forward, sharing their stories of abuse and harassment.
It was a relief, to say the least. She finally felt like she could move on without constantly looking over her shoulder—and Dayvon couldn't have been prouder of her strength through it all.
Things had even calmed down with Kema. She and Dayvon were finally on decent terms again. A little. In fact, Von was picking Kasim up later. They'd agreed Kasim would be staying with his dad for the summer once he graduated. But after the summer, Kai would fly back to his mom's before the new school year started. Everything was falling into place.
Life felt good, and not to mention Tink had just reached five months into her pregnancy. Now, they were sitting outside the doctor's office, ready for one of the most exciting appointments yet.
Dayvon glanced over at Trinity who was rubbing her belly out of habit. It was hard not to notice how much she'd changed over the past few months—her belly had gotten so big, it was crazy. Her features were softer now, her nose a little fattier, which she'd mentioned feeling insecure about more than once.
The thought of losing the baby weight after birth was so overwhelming. But Dayvon was always quick to tell her she was beautiful no matter what.
"What'd she say?" Dayvon asked, glancing at Trinity as she slid her phone into her bag. He already knew she'd just gotten off the phone with her mom.
They had finally spilled the news to both their families because there was no way to keep it a secret any longer. Darcy, Trinity's mom, was beyond thrilled about becoming a grandmother, and Taesha, Dayvon's mom, was just as excited—especially since her son was finally having another child.
"Nothing much," Trinity replied, looking up at him with a small smile. "She just asked if we wanted to come over for dinner tonight, but I told her no thanks. I just wanna see our baby again. It's been a minute, and you know I stay stressing about whether they're okay in there"
Von chuckled. "You've been doing everything right. Baby's good. You just gotta relax. Did you talk to Lulu?"
"Yeah yesterday," She replied, shaking her head slightly like she'd forgotten. "She said we could start moving our stuff in tomorrow. Lord, I be forgetting to tell you these things"
