Meech and Trinity sat in the familiar waiting room of Dr. Sabeen's office, the awkward atmosphere between them obvious because of how far they were sitting away from each other. Meech fiddled with his phone, scrolling through social media while Trinity stared out the window, lost in her thoughts.
It was currently the next day, and after spending the whole day with Von, Trinity told him to drop her off at home because she clearly had a session scheduled with Meech, which made Dayvon a little mad and irritated. He was starting to feel confused by her actions. But nevertheless, he did as she asked, and it was late at night when Tink finally arrived home, only to find Meech already asleep.
She kept telling herself, and reassuring Dayvon, that she was only doing this because she wanted to slowly break things off with Meech until the divorce, so he wouldn't suspect anything.
Dr. Sabeen's office door had then opened, and she welcomed them in with a smile. They took their seats, Trinity crossing her legs and Meech sitting rigidly, arms folded across his chest.
"Good evening, Meech and Trinity" Dr. Sabeen began, settling into her chair and glancing at her notes. "How are we feeling today?"
"Alright" Meech muttered.
"Same" Trinity replied, though her mind was miles away.
Dr. Sabeen nodded. "Last time we met, I gave you both homework to spend quality time together, really focusing on each other. How did that go?"
"We went to my peoples house for dinner. Spent time with family" The man spoke first and handed her the paper, causing the woman to raise an eyebrow.
"But the goal was for you two to connect one-on-one, away from distractions"
As the two of them conversed, Tink's thoughts drifted back to yesterday, replaying the moments spent with Dayvon and Kasim. A nagging doubt crept in, making her question whether they were moving too fast, especially considering her actions, and if she was imposing herself too much into their lives. However, despite these concerns, she made an effort to refocus while Dr. Sabeen continued speaking, blinking and nodding like she was fully engaged in the conversation.
"So, did y'all at least get a chance to have any one-on-one time?"
Trinity shook her head. "No, we didn't. I guess we misunderstood"
"Yeah, we misunderstood. Like how you misunderstood the part where you were supposed to come home but stayed out all yesterday" Meech's frustration and bitchy attitude reached a tipping point, evident in the tight clench of his jaw as he turned his gaze towards Trinity.
Her response was a tired sigh, rolling her eyes and looking away from him, bracing herself for what she knew might follow—Meech's unpredictable mood swings. He knew that Trinity was unaware of him being woke last night the whole time for real, so he couldn't shake his curiosity about where she was.
