"I still can't believe I'm really pregnant...like, this is wild. I know I already told you, but it's still sinking in" Trinity said to Diamond over the phone, the initial shock beginning to wear off.
"Well, I can definitely believe it. What I can't believe, though, is how I was the last to find out about literally everything" Diamond replied, a hint of playful annoyance in her voice.
"Listen girl, I've been stressed. With the situation with Meech and now me being pregnant...it's been all over the place. I kind of figured I was, but I don't know...I was just very in denial"
"And that's okay. That's normal. How are you going to tell Von?" The woman asked afterward, her tone more supportive now.
"I've got everything planned out" Trinity said with a small smile, glancing down at the beautifully decorated box in her hand. It was a delicate white box adorned with subtle hints of blue and pink. Inside, nestled in soft tissue paper, was the pregnancy test that had changed everything. The two bold lines clearly indicated a positive result.
"So I found this gorgeous little box. It's got hints of blue and pink, and inside is the test. Imma wear his favorite color and cook something for him. I just hope he reacts the way I'm hoping he will"
"He better the hell. He'll be happy, I'm sure. That man loves you, and I don't even know him, but this will bring you two closer. When are you planning to give it to him?"
"Tonight, after I get home. He's out right now, said he won't be back until late at night," Trinity replied. "I just have to get through this meet-up with Alex first"
"Yeah, about that," Diamond trilled off, her tone turning serious. "Are you sure you're okay meeting him alone? Do you want me to come meet up with you real quick?"
Tink shook her head like her friend could see her, glancing around the crowded mall. "No, it's fine. I'm already here, so there's no point. We're meeting in public too, so it should be safe. Plus, I wanted to get everything ready for Von tonight"
"Alright, just be careful," Concern was evident in Diamond's voice. "And call me right after, okay?"
"I will," Trinity promised, feeling a bit more reassured. "Thank you pooh for understanding. I'll talk to you soon"
With a deep breath, she then ended the call and slipped her phone back into her purse. She had been on the phone with Diamond for the past twenty minutes, catching her up on everything that had been going on. Diamond was initially shocked by all the news, gasping and interrupting Trinity mid-sentence, but she quickly understood given everything Trinity had been dealing with.
And yesterday when Tink was texting Alex, she finally had agreed to meet up with him at the mall. She chose this busy location because it was public and safe, with plenty of people around.
The second pregnancy test she took had also come back positive when all of that was going on, which made Trinity cry out of nowhere—simply feeling overwhelmed by the reality of her situation. Thankfully her friends had been there for her, comforting her for hours as they ate their food, watched TV, and even had ice cream together afterwards. They knew her emotions were all over the place, and their support helped her feel better.
