Three months had flown by in a hurry, and Trinity couldn't believe she was already three and a half months pregnant. It felt like just yesterday she had found out she was expecting. Now, she and Dayvon were in their bedroom, rushing to pack their bags for a much-needed trip to the Bahamas.
"Did you pack the sunscreen?" Tink asked, folding up a loose sundress and slipping it into her suitcase.
"Yeah, I got everything mama" Von replied, zipping up his own bag. He glanced at her, his eyes lingering on her belly, which had just started to show a little more over the past few weeks. He smiled, that proud, protective look he always had now. "And don't forget yo vitamins and snacks. We can't have you starving the baby"
"Trust me, this baby won't let me forget to eat. All I do is eat and sleep nowadays. I don't even remember what energy feels like anymore" Trinity chuckled, her hand instinctively resting on her small but noticeable bump.
The past few months had been...a lot. The nausea had finally eased up, and her appetite came roaring back. Von had been nothing but supportive, constantly checking in on her, making sure she was comfortable, and helping with anything she needed. He was always massaging her body, talking to the baby, and making sure she took her vitamins.
He made sure everything in her life was as smooth as possible. He'd taken on more responsibilities around the house and even at work, just to give her some peace of mind. If she needed late-night snacks or food or couldn't sleep, he was right there. His excitement about the baby had only grown, and sometimes he acted like he was the one who was pregnant.
They hadn't told their families about the pregnancy yet because they both felt it was still too soon, and they wanted to enjoy this moment quietly between them. For now, they were content with keeping this new chapter just between them and their closest friends, holding off until they were ready for the world to know.
"You sure you packed enough clothes? We gon' be gone for a whole week" Dayvon then asked, glancing at her suitcase.
"Boy, I packed everything I could. My clothes don't even fit the same no more" She responded, a playful pout on her face.
"You still look fine as hell to me"
When he said that, Trinity smiled back at him, feeling the love and care he gave her every day. Things between them had only gotten stronger since the pregnancy. Sure, they had their moments of stress, but they always worked through it. Tink had been anxious about how the baby would change their lives, but seeing how Von stepped up without hesitation eased a lot of those fears. He was all in.
Anyway, her phone buzzed, breaking the moment. "Car's outside. We need to get moving"
"C'mon" The man grabbed their suitcases. They headed out of the house after locking the doors—and Dayvon led the way while Trinity carefully stepped down the porch, her hand resting on her hips. The air was still kinda cool, with a slight breeze drifting through the neighborhood. Their driver waited at the curb, the black SUV idling softly, ready to take them to the airport.
