Six years later...

Although the sun hadn't yet risen on this hot Saturday morning, enough light filtered through the slats to warm the corners of the room, even though July had just arrived and the weather was already becoming sticky. Fortunately, one of the few advantages of moving to a more desirable part of Chicago was that the houses had central air conditioning.

And Trinity loved that. She was more than grateful. Not only was this house larger than the one she had lived in when pregnant with True, but it was also calmer and safer. And now, with five children, this house was ideal because it could accommodate her entire family.

She currently stood at the stove, barefoot, robe cinched tight, rocking side to side with baby Trezure on her hip. The one-year-old's head rested against her chest, thumb tucked in her mouth, eyelashes brushing her cheeks.

Trezure was clingy in the mornings—wouldn't even let Trinity go brush her teeth without trailing behind her like a shadow.

Well to be honest, she was simply just flat out spoiled. But of course, Trinity didn't mind...she was used to it. She wasn't doing anything significant right now but making breakfast that consisted of oatmeal, pancakes, and stick sausages, fully aware that if her children didn't eat in the morning, they'd be grumpy all day, which she didn't want.

As a mild aroma permeated the air, the living room television was turned on, with Team Umizoomi playing in the background, filling the room with comical music.

Sitting there watching it was her three-year-old son Desmond while ten-year-old Kasim was attempting to assist him in putting on his Crocs. Both boys wore soft red tees with a small vintage style Mickey logo on the front, paired with breathable khaki shorts.

Because the clothes at Walmart were affordable and consistently kept her children looking put together, Trinity made sure to keep them dressed in them.

"KaiKai...this one feels too tight. It doesn't feel right" Dez mumbled, rubbing his eye with the back of his hand.

"I told you it's the right one. Your toes just big"

"They not big. Mommy said I just got wide feet"

"She's right about that. Gimme the other one"

"I don't wanna wear Crocs. I wanna wear my light up shoes"

"Well you should've found em last night like mommy said"

With a faintly sullen look on his face and pouted lips, Desmond kicked his leg a little. "You being bossy"

"And you being slow. We supposed to be leaving soon. Just chill so we can go see Mickey" Kai buckled the strap. He knew that his brother hated waking up so early but there was nothing they could do.

It was their sister Danyla's birthday—her fourth. The big Disneyland trip was finally here and the kids had talked about it nonstop all week.

"Mickey gone be there already?"
