Chapter 3~ It Shall Be...!

You all get off the train. You and Lavander show the girls where to go with the junior first years. You go a different direction with the 4th years. You both hug your sisters and reassure them you'll see them soon. You walk off with Luna, you three arm in arm... in arm.

You three make your way into the great hall, from left to right the tables were Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff. The ceiling was the night sky, with floating candles. Banners of all the houses surrounded the hall walls. 

You looked out and saw some familiar faces, you could feel a pair of familiar eyes on you as you walked in. 

You and Lavander hugged Luna goodbye as she walked to the Ravenclaw table. You and Lavander skipped over to the other end where the Hufflepuff table was. You see Cedric Diggory. Lavander made friends with him during DADA Junior Level 3rd year, and you have all been besties since. She had the biggest crush on him that year. You both sit down, Lavander next to Cedric and you are across. You still felt the familiar eyes on you still.

 "Hey gurl!" Cedric said as you sat. "How was your summer?!" You three talked about what you did over the summer. Lavander talked about going to a water park with her grandparents, Cedric told you about the Hippogriff his family looked after for the summer, and you told them about cooking with your mother.

Suddenly, Dumbledore's deep voice boomed through the hall silencing everyone.

"Welcome everyone! Our first years will be arriving any moment. I expect all of you to treat them with kindness as I am sure you all remember what it was to be a first year." After he finished like it was a cue, Professor McGonagall came in through the large double doors of the great hall like a force with an army of first years behind her.

You could see your sisters and Mysteria walking down the aisle with the other first years, locking arms. They looked so cute! After Professor McGonagall and the first years got to the front where the podium sat, she explained to the first years what the process was. Then one by one she called them up to get sorted.

Cheering roared in the great Hall every time a kid was sorted and so quiet you could hear a pin drop after another name was called. You could feel the mix of excitement and anxiety flow through the room. 

"Poppy Y/L/N!" Poppy walked up but you could feel the excitement and knew she wanted to run to the stool. But she walked slowly and confidently like you practiced with her. She sat nicely and calmly for once, McGonagall put the sorting hat on her head.

You, Lavander, and Cedric stand cheer along with the great hall as Poppy's excitement was too much for her to handle and ran over to you hugging you so hard you fall back onto the bench. She squeezed so hard you thought you were going to pass out.

"Penelope Y/L/N!" Penelope slowly walked up the stairs to the stool. You held your breath, you could feel the anxiety from Penelope shooting from her, the sugar wore off and she didn't have the energy anymore. She had her head down but put it up and closed her eyes as McGonagall went to put the sorting hat on her head. McGonagall barley put it on her head when the sorting hat said
