Day With Father

Y/N POV

You arrive at your house, you smelled your mothers cooking. You walked in to your mother in the kitchen and your father sitting on the couch reading a herbology book.

"Y/N!" You mother runs to you and hugs you gently trying not to hurt you. You hugged her tight, you missed them so much and was so happy to be home. Your father came over and had his arms open for a hug after you let go of your mother.

"Hello my little leaf." You walked as fast as you could to him and hugged him tight as well. You sat down with them for dinner. You didn't want to talk about everything going on at school right now, you just wanted to enjoy your parents company for now.

"I have a surprise for you but that can wait until tomorrow, you should get some sleep." You mother said after dinner. You agreed and went up to your room turning the light on, you felt like you haven't seen it in so long, you missed your room. You looked out the window and saw a glow in the distance, you've seen this glow before and you figured there was another house or something there but it wasn't visible from your house. You only ever saw this glow from your room at night, it became a comfort just to look at it for you. You would stare at it in thought a lot until bed, you missed it more than ever now.

"Little leaf?" You father knocked on your open door and peaked his head through. You turn and smile to see him.

"I wanted to say goodnight and thought we could have a little day together tomorrow after your mothers surprise tomorrow." You smile and agree, you hadn't had a day with just you two in a while.

He wished you goodnight and left closing the door. You looked back and the glow was still there. You got dressed for bed and turned your light out. You stared at the glow until you fell asleep.

You woke up the next morning to the smell of bacon, eggs, and biscuits. You made your way downstairs to your mother cooking and there was a portrait on the couch of an old woman.

"Good morning sweetheart." Your mother came over to you and led you into the living room to the portrait. "I'll get your breakfast." She went back into the kitchen leaving you with the old woman. She introduced herself.

"Y/N, I'm Grandmother Flower. It's nice to see you." This was the Grandmother your mother has been trying to find since you were small. The one with your gift. You didn't say anything, unsure of what to say or ask.

"Don't worry dear, I know you're shocked to see me. Your mother found me and told me everything I'm sorry I haven't been here but now that I am I can help you get your abilities stronger and help you gain the ones you haven't."

"Are you going to train me?" You ask confirming as your mother came back in with a try full of food and sat next to you. You ate as she continued explaining.

"Yes, I want you come back every weekend so I can train you. There's so much potential with you and I can sense it strong. You will be as strong as me, or even stronger." You wanted to know everything, what the other abilities were and how strong you could be with them.

"After breakfast go with your father then we will start, you need to relax more before we can train you." She smiled sweetly. You finish your breakfast and get ready, when you walked down your father was holding a single sunflower in his hand.

"Ready?" You nod and follow him outside, he was taking you on a walk which always seemed to calm you down. Walking in nature was relaxing you felt at home when you were outside.

"How's school?" You look at him, your father out of everyone could see right through you.

"It's fine I guess. I'm very confused still though, and all my friends and even Draco Malfoy are acting so weird."

"How so?"

"Well everyone is holding something back from me, Draco has been the most honest out of everyone and he's being nice to me now."

"Oh?" You heard and felt like he already knew. "What did he do?"

"Well Cedric hosted picnic before I went back to classes this week. All my friends and Draco were there and they all gave me wonderful gifts. Draco gave me special made Quidditch necklace that was so beautiful but it's not like him."

"Do you not want him to be nice?" He asked. You never actually thought about that.

"Well no, him being nice has been refreshing. But he went from being a mean and horrible person to a nice guy who gives me stupid personal gifts. Isn't that weird?"

"Not really no he probably realized what he was doing and didn't want to do it anymore. I had a friend like that when I was at school. He was a Ravenclaw named Josiah Newbit. He was awful to me, always made fun of how I was a guy Hufflepuff, even made fun of me for dating your mother."

"Uncle J? What happened?" You ask looking at him intrigued. You knew him, he was like an uncle to you.

"Our 3rd Senior Level year he went too far when said something about your mother that I swore to never repeat. I punched him right in the face a few times until someone pulled me off him. After that he apologized to me and was nice. We remained friends for the rest of school and now you know him as uncle J."

"Why did you accept to be friends after everything he said and did?"

"Well it took time, but your mother told me if he was willing to change and apologize I should give him a chance. I found out there was a lot more happening with him that he was hiding. His parents pressured him and was always compared to his older brother who he hates. He just needed someone to show him kindness. Me attacking him made him realize what he was saying and made him no better than his parents or his brother. And when I showed him that kindness, he returned it and we became best friends."

You looked forward and thought about what he said, thinking if that's what you should do for Draco. You couldn't deny he was trying.

"You said he gave you a Quidditch necklace?" You say yes but kept your head straight.

"The one you're wearing?" You stop and look down. The gold necklace was around your neck, you didn't bring it with you. How did it get there?
