Chapter 7 ~ Rocks, Parchment, Wand

You wake up the next morning, Saturday. As soon as you sit up and stretch, Owlbus flew over and landed on your leg. He was so tiny, his giant eyes looked too big on him. He did his little happy kick dance on your leg, and you danced along. He made a little happy noise and flew right over to his cage staring a hole in his empty food bowl. You got up fed him and gave him a little kiss. You start to hear scratching at your door, you walk over open it and Arlo, Jasper and another orange cat you've never seen before came into your room.

Penelope and Poppy ran in and apologized, Poppy picked Arlo up and walked out while Penelope picked up Jasper and the random orange cat. "Whose cat is that?" you ask while yawning. Penelope looks at you smiling proudly, "I made a friend." she quietly squealed. A big smile ran across your face. "That's wonderful! Can I know anything about them? Like their name?" You weren't trying to be pushy, but this is the first friend Pen has made on her own. You wanted to make sure it wasn't a bully.

Penelope looked at you and her face turned bright red. She put the cats down, looked out the door to make sure no one was outside and closed the door. She then grabbed your arm and took you to the back of your room away from the door and whispered in your ear. "It's a boy." It took all your strength to not laugh or smile. Penelope looked at you worried, "Are... you mad?"

'Mad?' You thought. "Why did you think I would be mad?" Penelope looked down and shrugged. "I have guy friends like Cedric." You speak. Penelope looks at you, "He doesn't count." You had to look past her to the wall to keep yourself from laughing. 

Because she was right, she was scared you would think she had a boyfriend and would get mad. Cedric didn't want your parts, therefore in this situation she was correct. You also had to keep from laughing that Penelope figured it out, but Poppy still asks Cedric to walk with her to Charms and gets a little too over excited when it's a Charms class day or actually anytime sees Cedric.

"Draco?" She asks. That caught you off guard. "I'm not friends with Draco." You admit to her. "What about Ron and Harry? I have guy friends in Gryfinndor." Penelope looked at you, like she was trying to piece something together. "Why were you hanging out with Draco?" She asked, you felt like she already knew the answer. "I was told to tutor him; I didn't want to be there."

She still looked like she was trying to figure something out.

 "How about Lavander and I take you, Pops and Missy to Hogsmeade and get you your first Butter Beer." You say trying to get out of this conversation. Penelope's eyes lit up, she's always wanted to go to Hogsmeade and get Butter Beer. But Penelope and Poppy promised each other they would wait till their very first year at Hogwarts to get it at the Three Broomsticks. They wanted the full experience.

Penelope squealed again and ran to get Poppy forgetting Jasper and the unknown cat in your room. You picked up both cats and carried them to the common room.

 Putting Jasper down you say, "go find Penelope." and Jasper ran off. You held the orange cat in front of you. "I don't know you sir." you tell the cat "Meow" the cat responds. "Nice to meet you too but go back to your child." You put the orange cat down and went to Lavander's room to tell her about Hogsmeade. After the plan is confirmed, you go back to your room to get dressed. 

When you and Lavander were little, you wanted to be twin sisters so bad you both demanded you wear the same outfit, hair, shoes, all of it. Your parents couldn't keep up with it, so your mothers charmed your wardrobes so everything you put in your closet, was also in Lavander's in the correct size and vice versa. As you two got older, you still used it since you both had the same style sense. Hogwarts wasn't any different, you learned the charms from your mothers and used it on your school wardrobes.
