"Please will you go!" You were begging Lavander and Cedric the next day to go to wherever Draco was taking you that included rainbows. You wanted to go so bad, you have always loved rainbows, father would always make them on super sunny days with the water hose. You would play in the water while looking at the rainbow. They were so pure and beautiful, and you loved they were so magical without it being actual magic. You loved nature was just like that.
"I'll go, but can I bring Neville?" Lavander asked? Neville? You didn't know they were friends. "Sure, that would be fun." You haven't seen much of Lavander the past weeks. After the Quidditch game she stopped getting detention and you saw her more, but you haven't had the time to sit and talk to her about what was going on with her.
Cedric left to go with his sister to Hogsmeade and left you and Lavander in your room. "What was going on with you earlier with all the detentions? Why did you kick a kid and throw that other kid out of a window?" Lavander was quiet, you had a feeling it was about the rumors. "Was it about the rumors?" Lavander looked at you, she didn't know you could feel other people's emotions, but she was used to you somehow guessing her feelings. However, it still surprised her when you did. "How do you do that?" "Do what?" You ask acting stupid. "Ever sense we were little, it's like you know everything I'm thinking."
It was kind of like that, you couldn't read people's minds, but people's emotions communicated from the mind and the heart. You could feel that someone was mad at someone else, but unless you knew that other person or their emotions made it very clear who that person is you didn't know very many specifics. You relied on common sense to help guide you which is what your mother worked on with you when you were little.
"You're my best friend, I already know what you're going to say before you think it." You tried to play it off. You knew you could trust Lavander, but mother told you to never tell anyone about your gift.
Lavander got a little angry. "But it's not just me, you do it to everyone. When we were in our first year here, do you remember when we were in Herbology class, and you asked Professor Sprout randomly after class if she was okay? Where all of class she was fine, then she started crying. We found out her favorite plant died the day before."
You forgot about that; you had felt deep sadness that whole class from Sprout. You felt so bad you wanted to give her a hug, you didn't want to be obvious, so you asked if she was okay. You should have asked her how she was, but you have never good with words.
"Luna told me about the rumors, I know you like to protect me. I figured they were connected." Lavander's anger went away. She sat on your bed "They're stupid kids who don't know anything and were talking like they did. I don't regret it." She looks at you. You laugh and sit next to her hugging her as you sit. "I know you don't, and I told Draco what happened with Maddox."
Lavander hugged you tighter. "Actually, the necklace was from him. He wants to make up for everything he's said and be friends. I'm okay with him knowing, but I hope I can trust him." Lavander sighed a little. "You can but go at your own pace. Don't push yourself. I can tell he's trying to change, and it may take time but he's trying." You smile, you were really hoped that was true.
"So, you and Neville?" You ask breaking the hug forcing her to look at you. She goes red and tells you everything.

DRACOS POV
After you got out of Y/N sight from her common room you ran back to yours to beg Blaise to come with you Saturday. It took begging, free Butter Beer for a month and he wanted to bring a girl, but he agreed.
SATURDAY
HOGWARTS MAIN ENTRANCE
You, Cedric, Luna, Lavander and Neville waited outside the main entrance for Draco, Blaise and this girl Blaise was taking. "Where are they?" Lavander asked, annoyed they were late. "There's a conflict." Luna says. Draco, Blaise and Astoria? Astoria was deeply in love with Draco and would do anything to be just around him. You didn't know her very well, but you felt her annoyance towards you as they walked up. Luna was right, there was a conflict.
"Hey!" Draco said to everyone but only looking at you. He walked up and you hugged awkwardly. You had to fly your brooms there, so you all mounted on your brooms and took off.
You were all in a line two-by-two. You and Draco leading followed by Blaise and Astoria, Lavander and Neville, and Cedric and Luna. You talked to Draco on the way there about why you love rainbows and the joy you felt being on a broom. You felt Astoria's eyes and anger shooting right at you the entire ride there.

"Here we are!" Draco said leading everyone to land. It was a random mountain ledge. It was very pretty and looked over a forest leading to more mountains. Everyone walked around the ledge, Draco and Blaise set up the picnic they packed for everyone. You sat in between Draco and Lavander. Astoria made sure she sat next to Draco and sat close. Draco rolled his eyes and moved closer to you; his hand right next to yours. You felt butterflies wake up in your stomach, but you ignored it.
"Now we just wait." Draco said before taking a bite of his sandwich. "For what?" You ask confused. You still had no idea what you were doing here. After you all talked and ate your lunch you all sat at the ledge. Cedric and Luna were sharing a rock near the back, Lavander was cuddling under a blanket with Neville on a wall, Blaise was sitting with Astoria on the picnic blanket and you, and Draco were near the edge sitting next to each other.
DRACO POV
You sat there with her side by side. You thought it was cute how curious she was about this and how much she found so much joy in a rainbow. Lavander told you to take her here. It was supposed to just be you two, but she wanted others here. You didn't blame her.
It was almost time.
"Look right above the trees." You whisper in her ear and point out where to look. Suddenly a volcano of water erupted and covered everything with mist making a huge bright rainbow. You didn't look at the rainbow, you looked at her. Her eyes widened; she looked like a child on Christmas morning, you could feel the warmth in smile. She grabbed your hand, you slightly squeezed back but not too much.
Her necklace looked so beautiful on her, she looked beautiful. Something about Y/N was so wholesome and cute. You really hoped this working.
YOUR POV
You sat there waiting for whatever was going to happen, Astoria was staring at you, and you felt anger from her. "Look right above the trees." Draco whispered in your ear; it sent a little chill down your back. You look, nothing new. Before you could ask what you were looking for, you saw it. As the sky filled with mist the biggest and brightest rainbow you have ever seen appeared in the sky. It was magic without actual magic.
You didn't notice you grabbed Draco's hand, you didn't feel anyone's emotions or Astoria's eyes. You just felt Draco's gaze and your hand in his and you felt at peace. You breathed in the warm moist air and looked to turn to Draco. "Thankyou." You say looking back at the rainbow.
You felt some kind of connection with Draco. You were holding his hand like it was natural, you didn't know why but you didn't pull away. There were so many new emotions you have been feeling, from Draco and yourself. You didn't know what this was, but you liked it.
