Chapter 40 ~ Emotions

You calmed down and went back to your common room. Lavander, Cedric, and you sisters were all excited to see you. You apologized for leaving to abruptly on Thursday then pulled them all in your room.

You explain the emotional gift you have and the training you did and will be doing with your Grandmother. Lavander hugged you and thanked you for telling her and you explained what exactly your powers were and how much they are going to grow. Everyone seemed impressed but not surprised by some of it.

'Maybe they already knew, maybe I told them and forgot when I hit my head.' You thought to yourself. You didn't really care all that much though, you were happy to share all this and they were happy to listen. Penelope hugged you and told you about her gift. She has the same ability Luna has and can see glimpses of the future. 

It made sense for why you always saw them together and how similar they were, you were happy for Penelope and her cool power and wanted to thank Luna for looking out for your sister.

"I want a special power." Poppy pouted, she was happy for you two but felt left out that she didn't have a special magic gift like you and Pen.

"You do," you start "I don't think anyone has been able to prank Fred and George like you can." She giggled and was happy again. You didn't know if Poppy really had a power or not but she was really good at her pranks and you knew she would be an amazing seeker one day.

You asked everyone if you could practice on them, and wanted to learn their emotions and how they were different. Grandmother Flower said you'd smell, taste or simply just feel how they were different.

According to her, your mothers happy smelled of roses and your fathers happy tasted of strawberries. You were able to smell a faint whiff of roses when practicing on your mother, it was quick but you smelled it for a second. They all happily agreed.

"What does my happy feel like to you?" Lavander volunteered excitedly. You focus on her emotions, she was more excited than happy but that would have to do.

"Your excitement tastes like those orange popping popsicles we would get at the park when we were little." You felt the popping on your tongue as she got more excited.

"Cedric your happy smells like warm vanilla, Poppy yours feels like sun is radiating out of you and Penelope your happy smells like a new book." You were excited to share this with people now, you weren't sure if you should tell Draco just yet but definitely wanted to at one point.

At dinner you noticed Draco walk in and you motioned him over.

"Are you two okay now?" Lavander asked.

"Yeah I think so. I apologized and he did too, I have something else to tell you and Ced later."

You didn't want to explain these weird feelings towards Draco with your sisters there. You didn't think they'd understand it fully and scared they'd tell Mysteria who may accidentally tell Draco. It was better to tell your friends who wouldn't say anything.

Draco sat down next to you and you felt his happiness. It smelled like warm honey and vanilla, you didn't even notice you were breathing it in deep and enjoying the relaxing aroma.

"Dinner smells that good?" He said laughing as he noticed how happy you looking smelling his emotions.

"Yeah, it smells amazing." You nervously laugh and turn your head away as you felt your face get hot. Lavander smiled and raised her eyebrows a little before continuing her dinner.
