Chapter 17 ~ Astoria

After the rainbow finally evaporated, you all got up to leave. Draco and Blaise started packing up the picnic. You felt a tap on your shoulder. You turn see Astoria; she was smiling very sweetly but you knew how she really felt. "Hi I'm Astoria, you're Y/N, right?" You felt her bitter heart and her rude intentions with this conversation. "Yeah, it's nice to meet you." 

"Draco was in my room last night and asked me to go, I just love rainbows, don't you?" She was trying to make you jealous; did she see you as a threat? "Yeah, that's why he asked me on Monday after we went to the Three Broomsticks." You smile innocently like you didn't know she was trying to do. Why did her trying to make you jealous make you angry?

Wait were you jealous?

Astoria looked flustered, like she had a whole thing planned but that one sentence blew it up. You held back a smile but seeing her frustrated made you happy. Draco walked over, grabbed your arm and led you over to the brooms. You look at him, he was angry. You focused on the anger more; he was angry at Blaise and Astoria. You knew Draco didn't invite her, you smile a little as you follow him.

You all fly back and return to your common rooms.

DRACO POV 

You were fuming the whole way back, Blaise just showing up with Astoria without any warning wasn't cool. And the deal was she could come if she didn't talk to Y/N. You get back to the common room. "Blaise go to my room, I'll be there in a second." You told Blaise before you left you wanted to talk alone when you got back. 

"ASTORIA!" Your voiced boomed through the common room. People were looking but you didn't care. You kind of wanted an audience. You walked over to her, you felt like you were going to explode. Astoria is used to your tempter you can't get a reaction out of her. Astoria turns around, arms crossed. 

"What the actual fuck is wrong with you? You weren't supposed to talk to Y/N!" Astoria rolled her eyes. "I don't understand what you see in her, 'she's a stupid little Hufflepuff who doesn't know her right from her left' sound familiar?!"

You get even more angry; how dare she use your own horrible words against you.

"Draco, we both know I'm perfect for you, the sweet Slytherin girl and the bad Slytherin boy. Weren't we supposed to get married?"

"That changed quickly after, you didn't even know that until we were 12 and have been obsessed with me ever since!"

"That thing isn't who you should be with, and I know your parents well, they will be pissed when they find out you're going after her. She is a stupid little Hufflepuff isn't she? She didn't even realize that I was trying to make her jealous. You want to date someone like that? 

She can't handle your family or your life like I can. And you know very well what I can handle, don't you Draco." She got closer to you her eyes just gazing into yours. You back off and ignore that last part.

"Good, I'm glad she didn't catch on to your coldness." You hissed. "And go ahead and tell them, you'll find they know about it and are supportive." Well at least your mum, your father didn't like it but had no power over it. Astoria scoffs.

You never hated someone this much. Astoria mumbled something under her breath, you felt anger rise at what you thought you heard.

"Excuse me?" You hissed again, Astoria then loudly said.

"Why do you want to date a slut like that?!"

You stood corrected, now you never hated anyone more. Before you said or did anything you'd regret you walked to your room in silent rage.

You didn't have the energy to get mad at Blaise. "I'm sorry man, I wasn't trying to cause an issue. I told her not to." You were sitting on your bed, head in your hands. "What were you trying to do then? If it was for a laugh or to make me uncomfortable, whatever I'm angrier that she talked to Y/N."

Blaise stood in front of you looking down to you. "What did Astoria say?"

"I'm not sure, she said she was trying to make Y/N jealous, but she was oblivious to it thankfully. So, I don't think Y/N thought anything was going on. And I don't think Astoria said anything about...that."

"Y/N looked like she was having fun, so your plan is working."

You smiled thinking about her smile and the way she looked when the rainbow appeared. You held your necklace, thinking.

Owlbus came through the window and dropped a letter on your lap and flew off singing.

Y/N POV

When you return to your common room, you sit with Poppy, Penelope and Luna telling your sisters about the rainbow. Lavander and Neville were in her room and Cedric was with his little sister. Mysteria came in to get Poppy for their Water Girl/Boy meeting, they skipped off singing.

Luna and Penelope took off. Luna has been teaching Penelope Tarot Cards, Penelope comes back full of facts to tell you. 

You think about what Astoria did, she was trying to make you jealous, and it was working. You knew what she was doing, it made you mad that she was doing it. But you had a feeling there was some history besides just being childhood friends. She clearly liked him, and he clearly didn't like her. You didn't need a special emotion gift to tell you that. But there was something deeper.

You knew how to get deep into someone's emotions, and it's more like reading someone's mind, but you never liked to use it.

You felt bad, Astoria had ruined the day for Draco. You had felt his anger anytime she was near and all the way back the anger was overwhelming after she talked to you.
