Chapter 14 ~ Draco

DRACO'S POV

After the talk with Y/N you felt better. You wondered about what she said about feeling his proudness, but you didn't want to push her. You scheduled for tutoring sessions before you left. Every Monday and Thursday at dinner.

You went back to your common room; Blaise came up to you. "So, did you, do it?" You immediately got annoyed; you were trying to stop thinking about it. "Yes, but I said it was from my mother." Blaise hung his head. "Seriously? How hard is it to give a girl a necklace?"

"It's hard when you've been nothing but dick to her and now you have to...ugh!" You hated this, why did this happen? When did this happen? "Fix it tell her it's from you and take her out. Do you feel any better after going there? You were there for a while." You did feel better, but you also still felt it didn't go anywhere.

"She will never date me, after all the horrible things I've done and said to her, she deserves better. And a stupid necklace isn't going to change her mind." You also thought how Y/N would probably not trust you because of Maddox.

You felt sick to your stomach, you sat down holding your necklace again. 

When you got into your dorm on the first day, you saw a letter in a bag from your mother that said,

This will open when you're ready

Cryptic as shit you thought, you tried to open it and couldn't. But the day after Y/N panic attack you woke up to it on your bedside table, open. You read it maybe five times before you comprehended it. 

You and Y/N were soulmates. An incident happened when you were babies and due to this incident, your mother said she will explain later, but it bound your souls together. All the parents knew about this, Snape knew about this. The letter also said that you had until you were nineteen to fall in love or the souls would do it on their own. 

This was the last year, and you could tell your souls were trying to help. You couldn't help but stare at her and when she looked back you only saw her. Everything else around went quiet, you didn't hear or see anything else just her. It was such an intense feeling you had to look away because if you didn't you would just stare into her eyes. But when she wasn't looking at you, you wanted nothing more than just to look into them again.

The letter opened because you fell in love with Y/N that night. She came looking for you, she sat under a table with you, talked and listened to you. And she didn't have to, she actually cared about you.

Truthfully, you've always liked her, when you were younger you picked on her because you were a stupid kid with big feelings. But when you turned fifteen you started understanding those feelings. You became meaner because you were angry at yourself, your father, and you knew being with her would leave her heartbroken.

After that night you knew you could never hurt her. "I can't hurt her." You told Blaise you felt tears coming. Blaise sat next to and put his hand on your back. "You won't, I looked it up once her soul is in love you can't hurt each other. You have to get her to fall in love with you."

You knew you had to; it was just how?

The day after the letter opened, you went to the great hall during lunch, you saw Cedric eating with Lavander. You sat with them. They both looked at you like you were crazy, but they weren't mean to you. "Can I talk to you two about something? In private?" 

You walked with them outside where you were alone. They said Y/N was tired and sleeping so she wouldn't be coming to lunch. You explained everything to them about the letter and what needed to happen. "Did Y/N get this too?" Lavander asked.

"Yes, the letter said she has one and will open when she falls in love with me. But I need to completely change how I act around her, she needs to love me. I can't do that, I've ruined that." Lavander and Cedric looked at each other.

"We can and we will help you." Lavander finally said. "But you need to really try Draco."

Lavander's voice ran through your head. 'You need to really try' You didn't try, you were a coward back there.

"Ask her out Monday, during your session then tell her the necklace is from you." Blaise said, trying to convince you. "Fine." You said, you didn't need convincing you were already going to do it. Courage is what you needed.

You held your necklace again, matching to the one you gave Y/N.
