"I still can't believe you didn't tell me you met Taylor Swift," Jamie pouted as the duo flopped back on the couch of his apartment.

"It's been a week! Give it a rest dude," Cassidy groaned sitting up.

"You nearly killed me. I almost passed out and died. I made an idiot of myself, do you know how thats making me feel?!," he hissed.

"I know exactly how you feel. You've told me all day everyday all week!"

The man just rolled his eyes similar to that of a teen. However as the brunette began to slip her shoes on, ready to exit the apartment a small frown appeared on his face.

"Are you sure you're right to go home?," he asked switching back to a serious tone.

Cassidy was getting sick of this question. He'd asked her almost everyday.

There was no reason for her to be afraid of going home. Pierce never hurt her, not on purpose at least. An accident doesn't count. Of course she was okay to go home.

Besides, she'd been going back and forth between her apartment and Jamie's all week. It's been perfectly fine. Pierce had seemed to get over whatever was up his ass.

"It's fine," she muttered trying to hide her frustration.

"Okay," Jamie sighed, "text me if you need anything at all."

"I will."

"Promise?"

"Jamie! Stop, I'm going to be perfectly fine."

The blonde held his hands up defensively, "Okay! Sorry for caring."

Cassidy just gave him an unimpressed look before pulling him into a tight hug.

"Thanks for having me, babes! I'll see you again soon, I'm sure," she smirked walking over to front door.

"Damn right! You're stuck with me, Castle," he teased.

She grimaced at the name. That's a new one. Better than kitty at least...

She unlocked her car, pulled out of the driveway and struggled to focus on the road ahead. Nothing was bad right now.

She had no right to be sad. The couple hadn't fought at all this week, and yet she felt that she was barely holding together.

She struggled to focus on the road, nearly rear ending the car ahead of her, who very friendlily held up their middle finger out their window.

Cassidy felt like slamming her head against the wheel. She was exhausted from this mess.

Instead of taking her usual, left turn to head home, Cassidy found herself continuing to drive onwards. Pulling over at her favourite park.

She slammed the car door shut behind her as she got out, tucking a headphone in each ear. State of Grace began playing in her shuffle.

The park surrounding her was practically empty, so she planted herself down on a bench, watching the trees swaying in the wind. She found it temporarily relax the stress she was feeling.

Cassidy had no idea why she drove here. She wasn't even paying attention to where she was driving. Her consciousness only returned when she turned the engine off.

It was as if she didn't want to go back, subconsciously at least. She knew she was safe to go home. So there was no need for her to be afraid, right?

But why was she?

Why was she finding it so difficult to return to the place she should want to be the most? She had so many questions she couldn't find the answers to.
