Taylor squeezed Cassidy's shoulder tightly as the girl's peaceful snores filled the car. This wasn't the first time she'd found herself taking care of drunk Cassidy, but she wasn't complaining.

Taylor loved seeing the more vulnerable version of the brunette. It seemed the only time Cassidy allowed herself to truly feel anything and let her wall down was in moments like these.

As they neared the hotel, Taylor gently ran her fingertips up and down Cassidy's arm causing the girl to slowly stir awake.

"Good morning, sunshine," Taylor beamed causing Cassidy's face to fall with confusion.

"Don't pull more wizard shit Taylor! I— how can you time jump?," Cassidy asked, her voice slurred with alcohol. "Don't think I've forg— forget? Forgotten about the last stunt you pulled?!"

"Oh, Cass. You are still very drunk, hm?," Taylor chuckled.

"Don't try to change the topic," Cassidy scolded her, "You got my face all wet!"

Taylor had to hold in a snort as the brunette pointed her finger in her face, spinning it in circles in front of her eyes.

She had almost forgotten about that little 'wizard trick' she'd done.

"I'm very sorry," Taylor apologised insincerely. "I mean it truly."

Cassidy folded her arms turning away from the blonde, "You are not!"

Taylor chuckled, pulling the girl into her arms again. At first Cassidy tried to fight it but soon enough she relaxed into her embrace.

But it was then, even in her drunken state, she was beginning to remember everything she was trying to forget. Although Taylor was making her feel better, she was also a reminder of why Cassidy was so emotional.

Despite the effects of alcohol still clouding her mind, her mood was beginning to plummet. She was coming down from the euphoric feeling the drinks had originally given her.

All the emotions she'd felt whilst she sang in the bar earlier, still bubbled within her. Lingering. See, the alcohol made it easy to forget everything going on but as soon as Cassidy remembered, it made her feel her emotions ten times worse.

God when was the last time she'd gotten drunk.

She could already feel the oncoming headache. She was definitely going to feel it in the morning. Taylor pulled Cassidy out of her own head, handing her a bottle of water.

"Here, drink this for me please," Taylor instructed, "Hopefully it'll lessen tomorrow's hangover."

Cassidy pulled her head from the singer's shoulder, thanking her before drinking the water. Hopefully this would sober her up too.

But the more she really did begin to sober up, the worse Cassidy felt. The high she once had was crashing and burning the more she thought about the blonde sitting beside her.

She had flown across the world to see Cassidy, hauled her drunk ass out of a bar and then let the brunette stay with her for the night. Even after Cassidy had ignored her.

The guilt was swallowing Cassidy whole. She felt terrible. She'd done nothing to deserve Taylor's kindness, and yet she was still giving it.

When they arrived to the tall building, Hank opened the door for them to get out. Taylor immediately stabilised Cassidy with her arms, not letting go even after the shorter girl had caught her balance and no longer needed the assistance.

Hank went to help but Taylor shook him off.

"It's okay, I've got her. You can go to your room now, we will be fine from here," Taylor smiled.
