HI FRIENDS! I used so many storm comparisons in this one... I'm so sorry. I didn't notice until after I proofread 😭

A significant amount of time had passed and it didn't look like the storm was clearing any time soon. Cassidy found herself sat in the kids corner of the library, scribbling drawings with Sienna and chatting with the girl's mum.

The three of them were trying to stay occupied as they waited for the storm to ease. Sienna had the great idea to play a Q/A like game so they could all get to know each other better.

"Okay, my turn!," Sienna squealed, receiving a couple of side-eyes from other people within the library. Her mum mouthed an embarrassed 'sorry' to them. "What's your favourite animal?"

Cassidy had grown quite fond of the young girl in the short time they'd known each other. It was strange, but Cassidy swore she felt lighter than before. The hurt she was feeling was being eased by Sienna's innocence.

Who knew this silly little game would mean so much to her.

"Definitely giraffes!," Cassidy answered, "Although, lately for some reason I've taken a liking to hedgehogs."

Cassidy's tongue stuck out as she coloured in the picture she was drawing with crayons. It was a habit she'd acquired whenever she was super focused.

"But they are so spiky," Sienna protested, making a very concerned expression. Cassidy chuckled, finding herself being reminded of Taylor who had a similar disliking to spiky things. "My favourite animals are... flamingos!"

Cassidy chuckled as she reached for a pink crayon, a new idea coming to her mind for her next drawing. She'd never heard of anyone who's favourite animal was a flamingo but she adored Sienna for it.

"Good answer! Okay, my turn. What do you want to be when you grow up?," Cassidy asked, looking up at the blue eyed girl.

"I want to be a musician just like you! I'm saving up for my very own guitar," Sienna smiled brightly, however it quickly fell. "A lot of my friends say that I won't be very good at it though."

Cassidy bit the inside of her cheek to stop her eyes from watering at Sienna's words. She'd figured out why she liked the young girl so much. She reminded her of herself when she was about Sienna's age.

Innocent, pure and creative. So full of potential but being forced to doubt herself under the words of others. Cassidy remembered the first time she picked up a guitar. She almost never put it down again.

She worked so hard to achieve her dreams and write music good enough that someone might finally appreciate her talent, but there was always someone in her ear telling her she would never make it. Someone telling her she was going to fail.

She hated that she was proving them right because of the media.

"Sienna, you can do anything you dream to do! As long as you believe in yourself, that is all that matters. Don't listen to anyone who tries to stop you from doing what you love, okay?," Cassidy told the young girl, "Promise me that once you get that guitar, you will prove all of them wrong."

Sienna held up her pinky, locking it with Cassidy's as she nodded in agreement.

"I promise!"
