Cassidy woke to the sound of her buzzing phone. With winky eyes she went to reach over for it on her nightstand, only she couldn't quite move.
As her eyes adjusted to the light, the brunette noticed a tight grip around her body. Taylor had engulfed her in her arms whilst they were asleep. Cassidy's eyes widened as she tried to remove herself from the blonde's grip without waking her. The singer really was a bed hog!
She tediously slipped herself out of the embrace and attempted to pry Taylor's arm off of her but the singer had her in a death grip.
The brunette's phone continued to buzz but the singer just slept through it, snoring peacefully.
Cassidy honestly prayed she didn't wake up because she was blushing a ridiculous amount. It literally reached her neck.
Her heart had also never beaten quicker in it's existence and she wasn't sure why.
As a last resort Cassidy grabbed the singer's arm and snapped herself up and off the bed.
Taylor stirred a little but quickly went back to snoring. Cassidy had to stifle a laugh, unsure how the blonde managed to sleep through all of that chaos. But she wasn't complaining.
She grabbed her phone and exited the room, answering the call.
"Hello?"
"Hey Cass," a voice she knew all too well said over the phone.
Cassidy couldn't even get a word out, she just stood completely still. Chills took over her whole body.
"I just wanted to congratulate you on your new album, even though it's quite obviously about me... but uh, good job."
Cassidy still remained silent, why couldn't he just leave her alone?
"I know we aren't together anymore but I thought it would be rude if I didn't compliment your success. You know, we can still be friends, it doesn't have to be messy between us. I'm just trying to be civil," Pierce suggested clearing his throat.
Easy for him to say.
Cassidy felt her teeth grind together as she held the phone away from her ear. She was unable to listen to him anymore.
"Hello?," he asked, his voice much more distant.
The brunette slammed her finger down on the hangup button. She wasn't listening to another word.
Cassidy took a few deep breaths to remain calm, using the wall beside her to keep herself up right. Anytime she found her feet, he just had to remind her of his existence.
"Hey, you okay?," a voice croaked from behind her.
Cassidy's head snapped round clutching her chest, "You gotta stop doing that!"
Taylor rolled her eyes, placing an arm on Cassidy's. "What's wrong?"
"Oh, I was just stretching and using the wall. I slept in an uncomfortable position last night," Cassidy lied, lacking the energy to explain the call.
The singer narrowed her eyes but proceeded to nod sleepily. Cassidy was too stubborn when it came to things bothering her.
"Did I wake you up?," Cassidy asked with a frown.
Taylor quickly shook her head, "No, I just randomly got cold. It was really weird."
Cassidy felt her cheeks heat up remembering the cuddly position they were in this morning. Luckily the blonde's stomach gurgling was enough to distract the both of them. She placed a hand on her stomach as it continued rumbling.
