The early morning sun glistening under the curtains was enough to wake Cassidy up the next day. She squeezed her eyes shut placing a hand over her forehead.

The events of yesterday replayed over and over in her mind like a broken record.

It was the last thing she'd thought about before falling asleep, and the first thing she thought about when she woke up.

She could hardly believe she'd done it. Ripped of the bandaid and broken up with him. But now what the hell was she supposed to do.

She was going to have to tell her family and friends. But would they even want to hear from her? It had been months since she had a proper conversation with anyone back in Australia. They probably hated her by now.

And where was she going to stay? It technically was Pierce's apartment, so that was not an option. She was definitely going to have to sleep on Jamie's couch until she could find a proper apartment.

But how can she just pack up and live without someone she'd seen almost everyday for 3 years?

She pushed the blankets off of herself, placing her head in her shaky hands. God, she felt nauseous.

Her throat was dry, despite how many times she swallowed. She tried to take deep breaths as she felt her heart racing. Nothing worked.

1.. 2 3.. 1 2 3.. 1.. 2- nope.

Releasing a shaky breath, Cassidy reached over for her phone. Dialling a number she hadn't for a very long time. It took two rings until there was an answer.

"Bear?," a very surprised voice said.

"Mum," Cassidy sniffled.

"You haven't called me in a very long time," the woman sighed, "What's wrong?"

Cassidy used her sleeve to dab underneath her eye.

"I'm so sorry," Cassidy sobbed through the line, "I didn't mean to ice you out for this long. I- I didn't want to."

"I know. It's okay," her mom reassured her. "Tell me what's wrong Bear."

"We— Pierce and I... I broke up with him," Cassidy's bottom lip trembled at her words.

He was a dick. A manipulative, toxic, soul sucking monster but it still hurt. It hurt so much, and she didn't understand why. He didn't deserve her love, and yet she still couldn't stop the feeling of her heart aching in her chest.

"What?!," the woman gasped but quickly calmed down, "When? Are you okay?"

"Yesterday. Mum he—," Cassidy began but she struggled to finish her sentence, "He treated me— I got so— he shut me off from everyone. It's all my fault, I'm so sorry Mum."

Cassidy was all over the place, she didn't even know how to explain what had happened.

"It's okay, Cassy. I know. I've been so worried about you, it's not your fault, okay?," she comforted, "I've missed you so much, I'm not angry at all, I promise. You don't have to apologise."

"I miss you so much!," Cassidy's could barely speak through her jagged breaths.

She tried to muffle her sobs as much as possible remembering she was still in the singer's house.

"Breathe sweetheart. Do you need to come home? Or do you want me to fly over there?," her mom asked.

"No, it's okay," Cassidy sniffled, "I'll find somewhere. I've got Jamie."

"Okay Bear, just remember I'm only a call away if you do need me," she reminded her.

"Thanks mum, I love you."
