HIHIHIHI. I think I hate this part but oh well 🥰
Guys now I'm crying to 1989 which is usually my happy album HELP ME WHATS WRONG WITH ME?!
Cassidy leaned back further into the soft pillows, feeling the coolness against her burning skin. The room was quiet except for the soft hum of the air conditioning and faint clatter coming from the kitchen.
Taylor had turned on the AC almost instinctively after noticing Cassidy's flushed cheeks and glistening forehead from sweat.
The brunette had mumbled something about being too hot and before she could even finish the thought, Taylor was up, adjusting the temperature with no hesitation.
The singer had left to make her soup, singing soft melodies in the kitchen which should have been bringing Cassidy comfort and time to relax but she couldn't get out of her own thoughts.
Her conversation with Kate still echoed in her head, and the weight of her options pressed down on her chest like a boulder. Should she make the statement? Could she really relive everything she went through with Pierce for the whole world to dissect?
It all seemed so simple on the surface. Putting it out into the world, and finally shaming Pierce, should be empowering, right?
It should be an easy decision... but she remembered how relentless the media had been after her breakup, spinning every detail of her relationship with Pierce into a twisted narrative. She had endured months of hate.
Her character was smeared across the tabloids like she was some kind of villain. The idea of putting herself through that again made her want to curl up and disappear.
As if on cue her phone buzzed again, another notification from Kate.
Kate
I thought you might want to
give this a reread before we
discuss using it as evidence.Of course, if we do end up
using the letter, we can take
out any pieces that are a little
too sensitive. Take all the time
you need!Cassidy sighed. That damn letter. She didn't even have to read the attachment Kate had sent. The words it contained were already burned into her memory, though she hadn't reread them since receiving it.
His stupid handwriting. His stupid fucking signature. The ridiculously huge gaps he left between each word he wrote. All of the lies that were on that paper. It was practically burnt into her eyes.
She knew that if they were going to use that letter as proof, it was either all of it or nothing. If they took anything out it'd take away it's validity. It'd be a waste of the only physical evidence they actually had.
The thing that sucked is she would have to go into depth about it. Pierce's drinking problem would have to be mentioned. His verbal abuse. And his physical. Once she came out with part of it, the rest would have to come out as well.
It was a lot to figure out... something she was struggling to do considering her pounding head.
Cassidy clenched her jaw, her fingers trembling slightly as she locked her phone screen.
It all felt like she was standing at the edge of a cliff, looking down into the chaos below. One wrong step and she'd go tumbling down into the storm. But one in the right direction and she could leave this hell behind.
Her thoughts were interrupted when Taylor appeared in the doorway, holding a steaming bowl of soup. The blonde's caring act was enough to make Cassidy's stress vanish for a moment, the smell of the soup taking over her senses.
