Can anyone lmk why I've been listening to evermore on repeat and I can't stop crying even though I'm perfectly fine. Thanks.

Taylor was still tossing stones into the water unable to escape her racing mind when her phone buzzed. The moment Cassidy's name flashed across the screen, her heart kicked up, faster than it already had been since their fight. She hadn't been able to stop thinking about Cassidy, the guilt gnawing at her insides. That fight, they'd both said things they didn't mean, and 'forgiven each other' but they were yet to have a proper conversation about it. Right now it felt like the space between them was more than just the physical distance from the hotel.

When Taylor woke up this morning, Cassidy's legs tangled with her own, gripping onto her as if her life depended on it, it became too much for the blonde. She had pulled herself out of her girlfriend's arms with a shaky breath before getting out of the hotel as soon as possible.

The words I love you too should have brought Taylor comfort, and they did. But she still couldn't escape the feeling of her heart shattering within her chest over and over. There were too many emotions going on yesterday, she didn't have the time to feel everything. She didn't have time to process the weight of Cassidy trying to leave.

"Cass?," she answered the call, hoping for some kind of peace offering or explanation, something to pull them back together. But Cassidy's voice was sharp, rushed, nothing like the apology or request for her to return Taylor had hoped for.

The singers eyes widened as she heard the alarm in the brunette's voice and rapid breathing. What deepened her concern was the shouting that was slightly muffled over the call. Wasn't Cassidy in their hotel room?

She tried her best to get some more information from her girlfriend however all she received in response was a confusing string of words.

"Please, I don't— I'll explain later. I'm heading back to the hotel. Just send them and do not come here!," Cassidy shouted over the voices.

Taylor froze. Send them? Not come here? What the hell was going on? Her stomach twisted as she listened to the rush of voices in the background. Something was wrong. Her gut clenched further, registering the command in Cassidy's voice. Whatever Cassidy was mixed up in right now, it sounded bad.

"Wait, what? Cass, talk to me— what's going on, babe? Where are you?," Taylor's voice rose as she spoke frantically. But Cassidy had already hung up, leaving Taylor sitting in the middle of the path, the cool air biting at her skin.

She immediately stood up from her position turning to Hank, however he'd already seemed to catch on having heard what Taylor was saying. He'd already called the security team.

"We have to go back to the hotel!," Taylor demanded, her heart pounding as they raced to get back.

She couldn't just wait here, at the park like Cassidy had requested. Not after the way she had sounded. Whatever was going on, it felt urgent, and all she could think about was getting to her girlfriend as quickly as possible, her instincts screaming at her.

The heartbreak in her chest vanished, getting overwhelmed by deep concern. She begged the universe that Cassidy was safe and she wasn't hurt. She couldn't bear the thought of her being injured or in danger.

Thankfully the park Taylor was at was relatively close to the hotel. It wasn't a long drive. As Hank pulled around the bend the blonde's eyes widened as she noticed a swarm of paparazzi, all standing in a circle. She knew immediately that Cassidy was inside, her picture being taken over and over as camera's flashed.

Taylor gasped, feeling an overwhelming sense of protectiveness as Hank pulled up at the traffic lights that had now turned red. The blonde's knee bopped up and down in place. She couldn't wait for these damn lights to turn green so without hesitation she burst the car door open before Hank could even park.
