I need to stop allowing Tempest to narrate, but anyways...

Tempest and I, surprisingly, were one of the first ones to the campfire. I ate my dinner very fast because the entire day had turned my stomach, and I didn't want the nausea to set in too fast. Tempest dined on gummy worms and a Coke. We decided to sit in the front, since I was going to help lead the whole ordeal, and Tempest just goes wherever I go like an emo, 6'2 leech.

We bantered back and forth over meaningless things, like movies or shows we watched together or stuff at our school. The amphitheater slowly filled up, and once we got to about 75% attendance, the Apollo kids got the sing-along going. I saw Leo Valdez come in with the Hephaestus kids, looking a little awkward and unsure of himself, which is par for the course for any new camper. Well, except Tempest. She never looked awkward or unsure. Just annoyed.

I turned to Tempest. "He wants to let you punch him."

She was crossing her arms and slouching, which is her demeanor when she really doesn't want to be somewhere or do something or talk about something. "Yep."

Rachel came back with Chiron, Piper, and Jason. Rachel gestured to us and said something to Jason, and he began to walk over. Piper awkwardly moved to the low row of cabin eleven, so she was still somewhat close to us, but not really enough for a conversation.

Tempest scoffed as Jason approached. "This fuckin' guy..."

"Tempest, be nice," I chided. Jason sat down next to me and I looked at him. "Feeling better?"

"No," he answered honestly. "Worse, in fact." He looked at Tempest. "Hi, Tempest. Sorry about... the Big House stuff..."

I gave her a look.

She sighed. "It wasn't your fault. You don't know what a dick that horse-ass can b-"

"Okay," I interrupted. "No more mean comments for the entire campfire, and you get a reward."

Jason whispered, "Is this how you keep her in check?"

"If I'm not supervising, she goes insane." I grabbed a skewer. "S'mores?"

He held his stomach like he was nauseous. "N-not right now."

"Tempest wants a s'more."

I grabbed a second skewer. "I know, Tempest."

She frowned. "Are you calling me fat?"

I poked her ribcage. "Oh, totally."

"You nearly touched my booby."

"What booby? That booby?" I poked her again and she smacked my hand away, but at least I was amused.

Jason smiled. "How long have you guys been together?"

"Four months," I answered proudly. I like talking about our relationship. Well.. surface-level, at least. Then we have those few months between the Labyrinth and the Battle of Manhattan that makes me wish I could crawl in a hole and die.
