My name is Sophie Foster and I am the princess and only heir to the kingdom, Havenfield. I'm 19 years old, although I am adopted. When I was at the age of 7 I was left in an alley with nothing to survive with, until the king and queen had found and taken me in. After the death of their previous daughter they were practically desperate for a child to care, cherish, and love. So why not me? I was still a young child and after a few weeks of caring for me they felt like I was their own, and they had adopted me. And although I am not of their blood, they still love me like their daughter.

Across the kingdom of Havenfield, borders the kingdom Everglen. To say we're not very fond of them is much of an understatement. In the past hundreds of years, the kingdoms have gone through wars several times, winning and losing. People of Havenfield never speak of Everglen nor its people and no one has ever gotten over the large border wall between the two kingdoms.

I've read many books about their history and I think that the feud between them is quite stupid. I don't even know if the books ever stated a reason for why they have such hatred for each other. Although if I remember correctly it was all peaceful in the 1700's until rumor has it that the princess of Havenfield was kidnapped by a Everglenian. She had been the only heir at the time. And after many arguments and debates, wars started between the two kingdoms, and the princess was never to be found.

I headed downstairs for supper, finding my mother and father at the dinner table.

Food was on the table and we put our portions on our plates. Tonight we were having roast beef along with rice and a small table side salad.

"Father, Mother, may I ask a question?" They nodded. "Why is there so much hatred between Havenfield and Everglen?" The name practically froze them. They set their utensils down.

"In the 1700's the only princess of Havenfield was kidnapped by an Everglenian." Grady explained, very shortly might I add.

"Yes, but that was a rumor. If the princess was never found, how do you possibly know if an Everglenian kidnapped her? There are several other kingdoms other than Everglen that border us as well. Why blame it on them?"

"Because kiddo it was them." He argued back, wiping the corner of his mouth with his napkin.

"Is there any evidence to prove that? Had they actually found this fellow who had kidnapped her? If he was, why wasn't his name mentioned in any of the old books?" Grady didn't know what to say afterwards.

"We'll speak about this after supper." He said, continuing to eat his food. My questions aren't answered, as per usual. My parents hate it when I bring the topic up, because they know beforehand that they can never answer any of my questions.

Once supper had finished we washed up before Grady started leading us to the library. He pulled a very large dusty book from the top of the highest bookshelf, using a ladder. Once he set foot on the ground, he set the book on the table and opened it to the first page.

"All was good between the two kingdoms of Havenfield and Everglen, until the disappearance of our princess. She had been last seen next to the border of Everglen. She had never been found. The Everglenians tried to defend themselves which only led to war. People were killed, houses and buildings destroyed. And after one, it had led to many more. The Everglenian's still say that they are not at fault and to put everything in the past. But Havenfieldians wouldn't let it go. They weren't going to forget the disappearance of their past beloved princess and they were determined to keep their feud with Everglen until they confess, until they find out who did it." Grady finished.

"I'm assuming they never did?" Edaline shook her head.

"Still Havenfield's biggest mystery yet to be solved." She said, starting to close the book.

"But how do we know it was an Everglenian? She was still in Havenfield. She could've been kidnapped by anyone. And anyone was allowed to roam whoever's kingdom. Others from different kingdom's could've also done this as well."

"Well not that we've suspected. Everglen would do this. They've always been jealous of our land, our people, our landmarks. So why not take one of the most precious things from us? Our only heir." He said.

"In my opinion, I think they're not at fault. But I'll look further into it." Grady chuckled, kissing the top of my head.

"Whatever you'd like Sophie. But you'll realize it was them. However, I'll let you figure that yourself. Have a good night kiddo." I smile and hug them before heading back to my bedroom.

I will figure it out on my own. And I was planning on doing something that I could never imagine myself ever doing. I was going to sneak out of the palace.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first chapter of Two Forbidden Sides! I was planning on uploading tomorrow but I was eager to publish, so I did! As usual, I have the first couple (I think 10) already prewritten, so updates will be more frequent. This will not be like One of The Selected nor Forbidden Royal Love.

So if you've already read those two, this one will have a similar concept of the both of them combined but it won't be exactly the same as them! I've gotten a few requests to do a selection or something with royalty, and if you haven't read the description, this plot is not fully mine! The idea belongs to @Kotlclover120207 (don't know why it won't let me tag or maybe it did, I dunno) and I've put my own twist to it, so it's not 100% mine. And honestly I just like writing royal books.

I am hoping this book will reach 30 chapters, or at least 25. With the way the plot is working and everything, I am sure that we'll make it to around 25 or 30 chapters. Thanks for clicking and I'll see you in the next chapter! Byeeee!
